As a parent, I'm appalled by the environment and culture at Ben Vorster High School. My child was subjected to severe bullying, and the school's response was inadequate, to say the least. It's clear that the faculty prioritizes students who excel academically, athletically, or financially, leaving others feeling marginalized and unsupported. The lack of concern for students who don't fit this narrow mold is concerning. Despite my verbal complaint and incident report to address the matter, I received no meaningful action from the school. The bullying was severe, to the point where my child's well-being suffered. I would caution other parents to carefully consider whether Ben Vorster High School is the right fit for their child. If your child doesn't fit the school's "favored" profile, they may struggle to find support or acceptance. The school's priorities seem misplaced, and I fear for the well-being of students who don't receive the same attention.
Me personally I had a terrible experience. For the sake of legalities... all I can say is that she offers poor care, shows no empathy, lacks accountability and shows zero regard for human life. Each patient is another figure in her bank account.

I was pregnant and due to deliver normally 01/07/2016, but was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia 15/06/2016. The doctor rushed me for an emergency c-section after not being able to get my blood pressure down on the 21/06/2016.

The next week I started receiving information on how everything was being rejected by the medical aid and that it was being put onto my account for payment.

I contacted Mediclinic to query what was going on, and they advised that Discovery is requiring a PMA from me and I need to contact my doctors offices to receive this information and forward it onto Discovery. I contact my doctors rooms and they said they hadn't received any PMA.

So, I contacted Discovery, they advised that they do not require a PMA and that they are still awaiting clinical information from Mediclinic to confirm that I did in fact have pre-eclampsia, once again I contacted Mediclinic and advised them of the information that Discovery required, they said they had sent it, and will send it again.

After 1-2 weeks, I continued receiving bills from Mediclinic. I phoned Discovery again to query why it hadn't been approved, and they advised that they still didn't receive the clinical information from Mediclinic as previously requested.

After speaking to several unhelpful consultants, they sent me through to a case manager, thinking I was finally getting somewhere, the case manager phoned Mediclinics case manager and advised her of all the information that they require while I waited on the line, and later came back to me to say that they will be waiting for the information but will get back to me.

About 3 weeks later, Mediclinics administrations manager made contact with me and advised that this would be their final request and if I didn't make contact with Discovery and give them the required PMA, that they would put the full R40 000.00 +/- onto my account and they would hand me over to the attorneys to collect the payment.

I once again contacted Discovery, keeping my cool I must admit, I spoke to a consultant, who put me through to pre-authorisations, who put me through to a case manager, said that the information has been put through to one of the higher managers and that they would be getting back to me within three working days.

After two days, I finally received the authorisation that I had waited for, for over two months, and happily sent it through to Mediclinic and my doctors office.

I thought this was the end of it all, but now I am once again starting to receive bills from my doctor advising that the authorisation code has been rejected.

Slightly frustrated is probably the understatement of the century. This is terrible service and is affecting my own personal credit.

In February this year, my boyfriend and I came through to Johannesburg. On route there was a problem with my car. Not knowing any decent car repair shops, we Googled, and came across car service city. They first said that it was the petrol pump and charged us R10 000.00 for the repairs. It took them a week to repair, and as we were on our way back home, we didn't get as far as Petoria, and the car started giving the exact same problems again. We turned around and brought the car directly back to them. I accidently left my gold inherited ring in the car. The next day early that morning we phoned them to ask them to keep the ring safe. They said they couldn't find it. So it was stolen without as much as an apology. Never the less, we literally had to take the car back to them seven times, on every occasion it was a new problem, and whenever we got the car back there was something else wrong. Literally. After them having it, the electronics started to mess around... The list is on going. Regardless of the six month warrantee. We stopped taking it back to them. The service is terrible, they really don't know what they are doing and, the manager has a horrible attitude on her!!
