I contacted the Riverside Veterinary Clinic in Durban to make an appointment to have my dog vaccinated. I was informed that there was a cancellation and the receptionist requested my name and my dog's name. I was informed that the appointment could not be made at the time, and the receptionist said she would call me back. The receptionist did not call me back. Subsequently I contacted the clinic a few hours later, and the receptionist (probably a different one) informed me that the cancellation had been booked by someone else and that she was not the person I had spoken to earlier. Her tone of voice was insensitive, belligerent and not customer friendly. I have taken my dog to the same clinic many times previously and I have not experienced similar customer unfriendliness before. I made a booking at the Windermere veterinary clinic instead, and found the receptionist to be more friendly. My request is for Durbanites not to support businesses which have forgotten about customer friendliness and who do not treat people of all colors equitably.
