They requested a deposit in order to commence work, which is standard. But before they finished the job, they started asking for the balance to be paid. They also submitted additional invoices for more paint, with stories about rain and rust. They also asked me to go and buy them trunking and cabling to wire up the gate motors (which formed part of their quote!). Today, they said they wanted me to buy them an additional 5L of paint in order to complete the job! They came out to site to measure for the quotation - we didn't change anything. They knew the exact length of the fence they were installing, and therefore should have known exactly how much paint they'd require. Trunking and cabling should also have been taken into account in the quote - how else are you going to make the gate motors work? We are a truck parking facility - they came to site to measure to quote. They did not anticipate trucks actually driving through the gates they installed - now the rail is being flattened by trucks, and they want to quote to reinforce it and make it *actually* useable! They installed a flimsy square bar that has already been flattened by the first truck to roll over it. There's a reason these guys have turned off their Google reviews, and I've just learned it the hard way!! 12 years in the business, allegedly, and this was a learning curve for them... the mind boggles...
