Dogsh*t school, biased teachers that mistreat their students. Clown of a principal, the only good teachers I've ever experienced at pha was Mrs Kurt, the one geography teacher that did cycling, Mrs Van Der Westhuisen, Ms Schreuder, Mr Manefeld, Mrs Ismael, my last math's teacher I had, she loves coffee and is very Afrikaans... I can't remember all their names but they all had a real love for teaching, they made us students feel cared for and made us feel like humans and not just children that are allowed to be disrespected. I've heard complaints from ex teachers and current, protea heights is in shambles. The main teachers that I believe don't actually have a passion for teaching is Ms Ball, Ms Fortune (the one with the attitude that pulls her face like she's smelling a ****, the other Ms Fortune that taught math's was actually a nice person), Mr David's (Ms David's made me feel like a human as well)... I was once told by a teacher that my life would end up like a car crash, I am now making around 50k - 60k a month without any university and I work from home. I'm putting this here to hopefully allow any student that feels like they get overlooked to know that, 1. U are not a f*ck up, 2. Maybe ur just not made for school (this doesn't count if ur a lazy tit) 3. u have an infinite amount of potential... Ps. To the teacher that humiliated me in front of the whole class and made me feel like a **** up, my car costs double the price of yours hehe, I drive my Mercedes comfortably😘

I agree with Angry Parent with the "suck" part. We have them parents too . . . "I spent a few weeks helping out at the school last year and the staff all look happy, are friendly . . ." O Kim, of course they are going to be friendly when you suck up. How dumb can you be? Help is not for free, you always do it for reward for your child in school, favoritism, which is downright pathetic. At our primary school way back, I have seen parents helped since day 1, year 1, thinking it will get their kids elected for position. When that did not happen at the end of grade 6, they completely stopped volunteering in grade 7. Just read the below: #https://wcedonline.westerncape.gov.za/news/wendy-horn-lead-metro-north-education-district# Millar said he believed that the district will flourish under Horn’s guidance. “True North will thrive with this woman of substance. Why is this a quality appointment? Because Wendy has shining eyes – The #1 rule of leadership!” LOL!!! Congratulations on your shiny eyes, Wendy. By the way, why was this not a BEE appointment? Funny, maybe someone should ask some questions . . . At least we’re home now for the time being and can hopefully finish without going back.

Excellent school. Yes Mr Smittie, it is not for you if your child is not the academic type. This school equips learners with the s****s to go to university. Independent self-management and ambition do to well should be characteristics you need to aim for to make it into the real word out there, which is, by the way, the 4th industrial revolution. Excelling in woodwork won't help here. If you want successful children, taking subjects that matter, have s****s and ability to do further studies after school, this school is for you. The teachers work very hard to provide everything your child needs. They have google classrooms where all notes are posted. The kids all have email addresses where they will receive all communication and things like timetables on, they collaborate on google docs etc. ...does that sound like the new workworld out there? Yes, it does. The principal is a revolutionary leader and the teachers work hard and they will do their very best to bring every possible opportunity to you. But if your child is not going to make the best of all the opportunities....not the schools fault. If you don't attend parent nights, also not the school's fault. If you don't want to make use of all the free extra lessons to help your child struggling in maths, also not the schools fault. But go on. You are welcome to believe playing rugby will get you that far. Not everbody is a Siya Kolisi. And yes, they do embrace uniqueness and believe in unity in diversity. That's also why bullying is a non-issue in that school. You may be just you and will not be discriminated against. If you don't see the value in this, then you are not fit to be part of that school anyway. Go find a "stuck in the 80's" school. There are a few of them left, but hurry up, they are changing too. At least at this school your child will not be left out of the RCL when if he/she is gay, or not allowed in any leadership position because of race/gender/***uality/language. So Mr Smittie. Get with the program. Welcome to 2020. Your child need different s****s than you were taught when you were in school. Proud Parent.

<div>I am seriously impressed with this school. Contrary to what the name may suggest, this is a government school, not a private school. The school has just been awarded the distinction of officialy being recognised as a maths and science focused school, something our country seriously needs. This was only accomplished by the dedication and drive of the principal and the staff at the school and their passion for teaching. The dedication of the teachers are commendable. They are prepared to come in after hours and on weekends to assist with extra classes. Even the principal still teaches (science) to stay in contact with the learners and her subject area. My last child finishes matric in 2020 and I believe that my kids have been adequately prepared to tackle the real world. The school does not spoonfeed learners (i.e. coach kids to pass matric so they can brag about a 100% pass rate) but trains them to be critical thinkers and problem solvers. I believe Protea Heights Academy will make a significant impact in South Africa in terms of developing young people that will change the word.</div>

We are into our 4th year at the school and have been happy from the start. Their vision is up to date with the era we live in and I feel like they are equipping the students to go into fields that are relevant and needed. Modern facilities and some unsusual extra murals such as Robotics(how cool!)They get the students involved in plenty community projects which is fantastic in making this generation a little less selfish, be aware and to think of others and help where you can. I spent a few weeks helping out at the school last year and the staff all look happy, are friendly and they work really hard.

This Maths and Science Focus WCED school was opened in 2015 and continues to make history every day. I have had two children in the school. The work ethos of the staff is excellent and their hard work inspire the learners. High standards are maintained but no-one is left behind - support and extra academic interventions are readily available. The school is innovative and trend-setting and is far ahead of other schools in terms of the effective use of technology in teaching.

If I could give 0, I would. My child came from a very good primary school where he was happy and had good grades. In grade 8 his grades plummeted in Protea Heights Academy. He has lost all his confidence and hope because he works hard but nothing seems to work. We got a sms in last year that someone wanted to speak to us about him but that never happened. I wouldn't recommend this school. For us this was a total disaster. I don't know where to start to try to help my child heal from this. Not everyone will have this experience I guess but I wouldn't have taken him there if I'd known all I know now. Very little communication from the teachers' side and parent-teacher evenings also a disaster with very little time to discuss. The school prides itself in very high standards but how about helping and preparing the children to reach that standard? It seems the tests are much more challenging than what is practised in class. Some of my friends and acquaintances also had to take their children out of PHA for similar reasons.
