I am raising a serious concern regarding the conduct of the CCMA Cape Town office and Commissioner Joshua August. During my case (WECT4081-25), Commissioner August pressured me to withdraw my matter and warned that pursuing it could harm my future employment prospects. I found this highly inappropriate and intimidating, especially as it came from someone expected to act impartially. He also made several misrepresentations in his ruling — including stating that I was not copied on management correspondence, despite clear evidence to the contrary. Furthermore, he disregarded the legal principle of vicarious liability, effectively absolving the employer of accountability for the actions of its managers. The commissioner’s reasoning reflected bias and a disregard for key facts presented under oath. I believe this constitutes a reviewable irregularity. While awaiting the outcome of the ongoing investigation, I have recently learned with great shock that my case of unfair labour practice was closed by the Cape Town CCMA, citing it as being outside their jurisdiction. This development feels like a continuation of the abuse I have been subjected to while remaining silent. I was informed of this closure by Aziza Taliep, CTN – Convening Senior Commissioner Assistant (Telephone: +27 21 469 0119). I am assuming that due diligence was exercised before this communication was sent to me. If this matter requires the involvement of political bodies, the Public Protector, or civil society organisations, I am prepared to take it to that extent. The credibility of this institution is being undermined by individuals who take the livelihoods of marginalised people for granted, and this cannot go unaddressed. My experience has left me deeply disappointed in the CCMA’s handling of the matter. As an ordinary employee seeking fairness, I expected protection — not further ************ or procedural unfairness. I am therefore requesting a formal review of Commissioner August’s conduct and a transparent investigation into how such conflicts of interest are managed within the CCMA.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Office of the Public Protector, particularly Emeldah Chiliza, for stepping in when my expungement application had been left unresolved for months. Once LegalWise escalated the matter, Emeldah took swift and decisive action. Her intervention brought immediate resolution to a process that had been stagnant for over half a year. She demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and a clear commitment to upholding justice for ordinary citizens. The responsiveness and effectiveness of the Public Protector’s office reminded me that accountability still exists in our public institutions. Emeldah Chiliza, thank you for your dedication—you made a real difference in my life

We always have negative thoughts when thinking of Government Departments. I would like to take this opportunity to say a big Thank You to the office of the Public Protector's Western Cape offices and especially Phumela and Jeanette for their speedy assistance in getting a matter resolved I brought their attention. Not only where they very understanding to the urgency of my case but dealt with things effectively, efficiently but always kept me in the loop with regular mail and telephonic updates. I simply wish that all other government structures can learn from this team.

I never imagined I would be writing a complaint against an institution tasked with defending constitutional democracy and protecting the rights of the vulnerable. Yet, here I am — disillusioned and appalled by the conduct of the Public Protector South Africa (PPSA). I was interviewed for the position of Manager: Supply Chain Management on 26 March 2024. Within two days, PPSA conducted a reference check on me. Shortly thereafter, I was instructed to undergo fingerprint verification and submit a copy of my payslip — clear indicators that I was being seriously considered for the position. However, all communication then mysteriously ceased. In accordance with the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act (PAJA), I submitted a formal request for reasons as to why I was not appointed. Despite this being a legal obligation, PPSA has failed to respond, in direct violation of Section 5 of PAJA, which guarantees every individual the right to request written reasons for an administrative decision that adversely affects them. To make matters worse, the official who was handling my request resigned suddenly and without explanation immediately after I indicated that I would escalate the matter to a higher authority. Since then, emails to senior officials Mr. Maredi and Ms. Molokomme have gone unanswered. What began as a routine recruitment process has now become a textbook case of procedural unfairness, possible administrative manipulation, and what appears to be a deliberate attempt to cover up the truth. This is not just poor governance — it is a serious breach of the law by the very institution entrusted to uphold it. It is unacceptable that a Chapter 9 institution, which is supposed to be a custodian of justice, transparency, and accountability, is behaving in such an evasive and ********* manner. If the Public Protector South Africa cannot adhere to the very laws it enforces, how can any citizen trust it to protect their rights? I urge relevant oversight bodies and the broader public to take note of this disturbing conduct. This is not just a personal grievance — it is a matter of constitutional integrity. I am now in the process of filing with the high court to have this miscarriage of justice reviewed. #ConstitutionalBreach #PAJAViolation #PublicProtectorSA #UnfairRecruitment #CoverUp #AdministrativeJustice #RuleOfLaw

I bought a motor vehicle with an understanding that the vehicle was "Accident Free". On the 3rd day of driving the car - I noticed the air conditioner was not getting cold. I took the vehicle to Suzuki to check. Turns out the vehicle had been in a head on collision with much bigger problems. The case has been with the Ombudsman since October 2022. The matter has been referred to the Public Protector. I cannot wait any longer!!!! Who can assist me to get this matter sorted. All I am told is there is a backlog.
