excessive - no help while they bill you high amount of money

I recently visited Raslouw Private Hospital ER with my 1-year-old baby on 14 September 2025. We were there for less than 1.5 hours. My baby was checked for vitals, *****ed once for glucose, given a pain tablet, a suppository, a small syrup dose, and sent home with a prescription.

Despite this, I was billed:

R500 casualty facility fee upfront

R1,999 additional hospital charges

R1,810 total doctor’s fees (R450 upfront + R1,360 extra claim)

In total, over R4,300 for a very short visit, with no admission or injections given. My baby is still sick and we left with just a prescription only
