I would give this business 0 stars if I could. Re-Thrift advertises that they take good second-hand clothing and sell it on your behalf, keeping a percentage. In reality, what Re-Thrift does is take your goods, give you back only a handful of goods or money, and keep the bulk of your goods for 100% their own profit (the dictionary word for this is ‘stealing’). They make endless arrangements to return the rest of your goods, but then break those arrangements without having the courtesy to even let you know. Then when you get upset, they get rude and argumentative. They don’t even intend to give the service they promise right from the start, it seems – the excuse for not returning the bulk of my parents' items was that they had agreed that any items not suitable for resale could be donated to charity. Except my parents' items were ALL in excellent condition and nothing came near to being unsuitable for resale. In total, Re-Thrift owes my parents about R4,000 for their second-hand clothing and shoes taken and not paid for or returned. I do NOT recommend dealing with Re-Thrift in any way. You are better off selling your own items on Gumtree or Junk Ads or Facebook Marketplace for 100% profit.
