In 2002, Marius Truter at TruLogic convinced my husband to cancel his Sanlam retirement policy in favour of a Momentum Whole Life policy with endowment, claiming that the payout would be so much higher. TruLogic subsequently cancelled the Sanlam policy on his behalf and sent the Whole Life policy to Momentum for processing. However, before doing so, TruLogic removed the two pages related to endowment and Momentum thus has no record of the endowment section - this means that, despite paying a ridiculously high amount for pathetic joke insurance, our entire retirement savings are GONE, and we do not have other savings between us! This means that we cannot EVER retire and will be working until the day we die!!! We are taking this further, but our lawyer informs us that having others with the same problem would make the process MUCH faster and significantly up our chances of winning the court case. If we can get a bunch of others who have the same problem with TruLogic policies, the lawyer is prepared to work on a contingency basis (we don't pay them unless they win). Furthermore, while Momentum has Marius Truter from TruLogic listed as the original broker, Marius insists that he was not the original broker - easy way to get out of accepting responsibility for the fact that he was caught out because my husband refused to cancel the policy a year before payout date as TruLogic tried to convince him to do. If you have any policies brokered by TruLogic, even if the policy is not with Momentum and is not the same type of policy, please check that your savings section is actually what you think it is. If you find that TruLogic has cheated you the way they have cheated us, please get in touch with me urgently on shadowfire13 @ gmail .com (even if you have already sorted it out - any evidence that this is their habit will be helpful to us).
In 2002, Momentum accepted a contract that had two pages not initialled - instead of sending it back for the client's initials, they accepted it. Note that those pages were indeed initialled when they were handed to the broker. Now, more than 20 years later when it's time to receive our retirement savings, we discover that the endowment part was never captured - someone remove the related pages and inserted blank pages in their place. Momentum has refused to do right by us. The ombudsman is useless and lazy and completely ignored the problem, along with the lack of initials and the fact that the broker on record as being the original broker insists that he is not the original broker. If you have any policy with Momentum, please check to make sure that all parts are captured on their system as it should be, especially if there are savings involved. If you find that you've been paying an exorbitant amount for nothing, please get in touch with me on shadowfire13 @ gmail . com - we would like to take this further, but it will be a lot easier if there are others who have also been cheated in the same way. It can be for any type of policy - ours is a Whole Life with endowment.
I always shop online at Makro, but all of a sudden I am limited to only 50 items? For a bulk store, this is ridiculous! To further waste my time, this was only made known to me when I tried to check out! Further, my cart says 50 items, yet your website refuses to allow me to check out and keeps saying there are more than 50 items and I must remove some. I am VERY unhappy and if I lose out on specials because of this I don't see myself buying there again! If you are going to limit items, then you need to NOT allow additional items in the cart in the first place! Don't waste my time trying to figure out what to take out! You made my bad day worse and I am sick of you people - even your telephone customer service are useless and keep going on about my browser as if it could be MY browser and not YOUR WEBSITE!
We are urgently looking for others who have a Momentum policy brokered by Marius Truter at Trulogic. We have been cheated out of our entire retirement savings (via an endowment policy with Momentum) and we are going to approach the ombudsman soon. It would help our case a lot if others have experienced the same issues - even if the policy type is different, and even if the company which whom you have your policy is different. Please contact Vanessa on shadowfire13@gmail.com. Thank you.
My husband recently discovered that the endowment part of his Momentum Whole Life Assurance policy has never been captured in Momentum’s system and there is no record of it anywhere. On the original papers he signed, the endowment pages are the only two pages not initialled (and are blank, although he remembers the broker filling it in at the time). Please note that we intend to approach the ombudsman together with others who have the same issue. We cannot afford to lose our entire retirement savings. ** If anyone reading this has the same problem, please contact me on shadowfire13 @ gmail.com **
Don't waste your money or time shopping at Takealot! They give you one delivery date, which is in time for a birthday gift to arrive on time, and then suddenly two days later your delivery date is A MONTH LATER, way after the birthday! Now the items are USELESS to me! That's even assuming the things work when arrived - lately there are endless returns for items with parts missing from them, or obviously damaged, or otherwise damaged or not as advertised. Disgusting! You people should be embarrassed!
Lately Takealot likes to waste customers' time - they cancel your order claiming no stock, then you look at their website and the item is still available for purchase! Upon querying it, I was told that the cancellation was because I would have to wait 5-7 days for the item to be sent by their supplier - yet that fell in line with my original delivery date, which Takealot pushed forward by a week only to cancel the day before delivery! Then on another order, they sent the wrong item and, when I requested the correct item to be sent, they instead credit my account even though that item was STILL available for sale on the website! Now when I try to repurchase the thing, I just do not get an OTP to complete the transaction!!! And plenty of similar issues with Takealot over the last few months. I need a new place to shop. I do NOT recommend Takealot unless you enjoy endless disappointment and customer service people who don't know how to read properly and completely ignore what you are actually asking when they respond!
I would give this business 0 stars if I could. Re-Thrift advertises that they take good second-hand clothing and sell it on your behalf, keeping a percentage. In reality, what Re-Thrift does is take your goods, give you back only a handful of goods or money, and keep the bulk of your goods for 100% their own profit (the dictionary word for this is ‘stealing’). They make endless arrangements to return the rest of your goods, but then break those arrangements without having the courtesy to even let you know. Then when you get upset, they get rude and argumentative. They don’t even intend to give the service they promise right from the start, it seems – the excuse for not returning the bulk of my parents' items was that they had agreed that any items not suitable for resale could be donated to charity. Except my parents' items were ALL in excellent condition and nothing came near to being unsuitable for resale. In total, Re-Thrift owes my parents about R4,000 for their second-hand clothing and shoes taken and not paid for or returned. I do NOT recommend dealing with Re-Thrift in any way. You are better off selling your own items on Gumtree or Junk Ads or Facebook Marketplace for 100% profit.
I ordered a kids' dress from Foschini's online store, and the very first time my daughter wore it, it came apart at the seams. There is now a HUGE hole in it in multiple places at the back, and it cannot even be fixed - although I should not have to fix something after a first wear! When I wanted to return it for a refund, I was told I have to drop it off at the nearest store - if there was a store conveniently close to me, I would not have purchased online!
The Pest Store delivers very fast and has great after-sales service! The second order I placed with them, they sent some items wrong. I sent an e-mail (on a public holiday) to let them know, and received a phone call the very next day (and they even apologised for not answering on the public holiday), and that same day a gentleman delivered the correct items to swap for the incorrect. Fast and reliable. I would recommend this company to anyone needing pest solutions!
