I decided to write this review because it is my moral duty to warn other people not to fall into the same trap as I did. Up to this point in time, I have experienced months of frustration which could have been avoided if I were better informed. My story concerns the company RenDeco which recently changed its name to Royal Roofing & Building Services. This is what happened to me: I approached the owner (who I will refer to as Mr. X) to replace certain sections of the roof of my residential home. A deposit of R140 000 was paid and according to agreement, the work had to commence on a particular date. Mr. X never showed up and continuously postponed the starting date. He had innovative excuses which ranged from loadshedding at the suppliers, the weather, expected problems with the offloading of the material, a busy schedule and so forth. After the fourth appointment failed from his side, I requested the repayment of R140 000 since no work had been done. He refused to adhere to this request which forced me to take legal action. With the help of an attorney a settlement was reached. An agreement document was drawn up and was signed by Mr. X, admitting that he took R140 000 without doing the work for which it was intended. A payback arrangement was part of the settlement but after two months he stopped payment which compelled me to take legal action for a second time. A second payback agreement was drawn up which he signed but once again payments were not made. He simply ignores a signed agreement. Meanwhile, the maintenance on the roof could not be postponed. I had to approach a new contractor which meant that I had to find an additional R150 000. Thus, the initial accumulative amount to repair the roof was R290 000. Mr. X misrepresented me that the deposit I paid will exclusively be utilized for my home project. Instead, he used the money for other purposes and in so doing demonstrated the worst ethical business principle one can think of. Other clients should be warned and I am determined to do just that. I have the following advice to offer: ▪ If you consider Mr. X to do the job you have in mind, be wary to pay a large deposit because such a deposit can be the bait for the knock you are about to take. Based on my experience, you will have to make provision for twice the deposit amount in order to approach a new contractor if Mr. X doesn’t show up. ▪ There are contractors who do not mishandle a deposit entrusted to them. I advise you to use one of them. They take pride in their companies and offer quality work. A company belonging to Mr. X does not fall in this category. ▪ Lastly, but very important - if you consider Mr. X, you need to have a good attorney at hand.

In June 2023 I paid the company a deposit for replacing a roof and ceiling. It was very urgent for the owner to get the deposit of R129 000.00, after that it took very long just to get the IBR roof sheets delivered and no ceiling. Now after a year the company has still been a no show and no work has been done. I am very disappointed with the company and do not recommend them for home improvements.

**** Alert: 👉 RENDECO Please inform family and friends about this company. Unfortunately, a lot of people in the Pretoria and Centurion area also stepped into this ANDY KING ***ner) trap. RenDeco IS A **** nothing more nothing less. All the remarks from other customers about RenDeco on Hellopeter sounds too good to be true because anyone can comment on a business on Hellopeter without even knowing that business. Like many others I have lost a lot of money to this ****mer. Here is my story. My wife phoned ANDREW (Andy) KING from an adverti*****t on the internet end of Des 2023 to give us a quote on renovations at my house, which he did. He gave us the quote the next day of which four pages are "Terms and Conditions" and two pages are labour and material costs. About the next day after, he phoned her to make a deposit into his bank account because of a possible price hike on some of the products. He then kept on phoning until she deposited the money. Unfortunately, my wife paid him and right after that he start making excuses because he cannot start with the work immediately. That is beginning of January 2024. We accepted his excuses which doesn't sound real, but we thought let's take a chance maybe he will start doing the work soon. He eventually came to my house dropped of two of his workers with 1lt of paint and left right afterwards, this was going on for days. They finish one section of my palisade and then sitting on the lawn until 4 o'clock when ANDY KING come to pick them up. He then starts coming to my house once a week do as little as possible and then later didn't pitch at all. At this point in time my house is without gutters, he took the old ones of, the roof is not completely painted, my carport hasn’t got a chromadek roof on for which we paid him, and Mr King is nowhere to be seen. We agreed with my lawyer that he will finish the work as per quote on the 3rd of June 2024, he never showed up at my house. Strangely the moment I put him on Hellopeter for the first time he phoned my wife about an hour later (not me) asking her why we did it. This to me was a clear indication that he spends hours on the internet instead of doing what he was paid for waiting for his victims to report his *****ulent actions. I am a pensioner, and this is a big financial loss to me and my wife. What is important is to inform family and friends across South Africa about this companies AND people so that we can try and stop others falling into the same trap.

I am compelled to share my experience with Rendeco's services, and regrettably, it falls far short of expectations. Transitioning from a previously successful collaboration to our current predicament has been nothing short of exasperating. Rendeco's performance has been consistently disappointing, with delays becoming routine and excuses plentiful. When Rendeco does manage to arrive on-site, it is often well beyond 12pm, causing significant inconvenience. Financial irregularities have also marred our experience with Rendeco. Despite initial agreements, we have repeatedly been asked to pay additional funds, sometimes exceeding the initially quoted amount. This lack of financial transparency is both unprofessional and concerning. Furthermore, Rendeco's decision to experiment with a new plaster skim method on our project without our consent was deeply unsettling. This method paled in comparison to established alternatives like Rhino Lite, leaving us with subpar results and the need to seek assistance from other companies to complete the job. Overall, our experience with Rendeco has been far from satisfactory. We expected quality, professional workmanship and adherence to agreed-upon terms, but instead, we encountered delays, financial discrepancies, and an experimental approach that failed to meet our standards. In conclusion, I cannot in good faith recommend Rendeco's services based on our experience. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the company to address these issues and improve their services in the future.

I too am being taken for a ride by Andy King. His business is now called Royal Roofing And Building Services. On the 13th March 2024 I had given him a R100k deposit for work that he said will take 5-6 weeks. Upon receiving the deposit, he started work swiftly and requested a second payment of another R100k so he could put the slab on. the weeks that followed is when his excuses started, along with very rude voice notes. It is now 2 May 2024 and he has not done any work for the last 4 weeks. I don't know what to do any longer, I have to go the legal route to try and recover my money. Problem is that my home has part of it's roof missing and we are still living in the house. Please do not trust Andy King.

I had a horrible experience with a company called RenDeco. My wife phoned the company at the end of Des 2023 for a quote to renovate my house. Mr. Andy King ***ner) came to my house just after she called and gave us a quote the next day. The day after he asked for a deposit "as soon as possible" as prizes might go up in the new year and he is busy with other projects so he can schedule ours. Unfortunately, we paid him and immediately after that, our problems started. He then asked if he could start on a specific day much later in the month which we agreed upon, he never pitched on that day. He started the work which was supposed to start at the beginning of January and be finished end of January at about the end of January. He came to my house a few times to drop off one or two of his workers with one liter of paint which was not enough, he then left only to pick them up after 4 p.m. He keeps asking for more money so obviously he has spent the money you gave him as a deposit. He also doesn't have the right tools to do the job he promised us he would bring a generator in case there was load-shedding which he never did. He doesn't have a compressor to spray roofs so he paints it by hand and at this point, about 20% of my roof is not painted since the 20th of March. More than three months later, my house is without gutters, the roof has not been painted completely, the carport is still not covered with a Chromadeck roof, and RenDeco is nowhere to be seen. PLEASE! Be careful and stay away there are many complaints about this company, unfortunately, we never did some research and fell into his trap.
