I've been surfing for a while now and rip curl is the worst company I've ever worked with, their suits are faulty and leak from the armpit area and pool up in the arms and make it impossible to paddle, particularly the new range of suits .... worst part is suits are almost R8000 and come with a "guarantee" that suits will be repaired or replaced, I've sent my suit back 4 times and it's the same problem every time and now the manager Rohan at head office is ignoring me, if this doesn't get resolved asap I'm going to make a noise all over Facebook and Instagram with a combined following of 12 000 people

Placed an online order just to be told days after the order the item is damaged and they do have others but they cost more. Communication very poor and didnt receive my items in time for my surf trip. DONT BOTHER!!

Do not buy from the online store! Very poor service. Ordered 2 items on 3 March 2025. It's now 25 March 2025 and I still haven't received it. The whole experience has been very stressful.

I truly am disappointed in the quality of your merchandise. I bought a pair of Rip Curl slops the 2nd week of January from a shop in Scottburgh Mall for my husband. After only two weeks and only wearing the slops at night and on weekends, they already had a chunk missing out of the middle. And a few days after that, the picture in the middle of the slops started fading. And then last week, the one slop actually broke. I honestly could not believe it. I have constantly supported your brand for years because I always knew we were getting great quality for the price we were paying. Never ever will I ever support you again. And no, I don’t have the receipt and I am not looking for a refund, I am just truly disappointed in a fantastic brand that has now lost another loyal customer.

In this day and age , it is so easy to write a terrible review on poor service or products , so it gives me great pleasure to pen these few words on excellent service received. I have a Rip Curl Drift series watch, it’s old BUT LOVED. I had issues with my light and sent the Service Centre an email, late afternoon. I received a call early the next morning asking me to explain my problem, which I did. Jason Jacobs was friendly, professional and thorough from the start , until my watch was handed back to me , in perfect working order. I received updates on progress throughout the process. Well done Jason, you are flying the flag high for an international brand. Special mention must be made of security downstairs who welcomed me and kept an eye on my transport, the receptionist who greeted me politely and got the ball rolling , and last , but not least , Darian Govender who expertly repaired my watch. A big shout out to all of you. You guys rock and have confirmed my belief in the best surf products available. Go Rip Curl!!!

I have a been a very loyal customer of Rip Curl for many years. I loved the brand and the quality, esp being a surfer. But unfortunately this will be the last time I want anything to do with Rip Curl. My wife bought me the GPS2 for my birthday in 2019 in Dubai at Rip Curl shop in Mall of Emirates. Since then we have moved from Dubai and is not living there anymore. During the move I have lost my slip. I have asked a friend who is still in Dubai to go to the shop and ask for a slip or some proof of payment, but to no avail: they dnt keep records for more than 2 years. The watch started giving me issues this year. I gave the watch to my local #ripcurlza store here in Amanzimtoti, South Africa. They came back to me saying I have to pay for the strap and that the module is broken as well and that I need to pay for that as well. The sales rep who took my watch from me had to write down all scrathes etc, and he wrote down only one small scratch I had on the watch. Since the watch is still under warranty I did not want to pay and said I will try to look for the slip, but of course no one could help me. The watch comes with a 5 year guarantee, the GPS 2 was only released in Sept 2018, so common sense would tell you that the watch is not 5 years old yet. But they did not want to help me so I asked for the watch back. The watch was sent back to me, and that same day I jumped in the pool, only to find that my watch filled with water. I had a closer look and saw that there was some cracked on my watch since it came back from repairs. I went back to Rip Curl to complain, and they told me they never opened the watch. So how come all of a sudden my watch filled with water? And why the crackes? I am extremely disappointed as they make me out to be lying. I don’t want a free repair, I don’t want a voucher. I just want the world to know how you treat your loyal customers. #costumerexperience #ripcurl

Over the last 2 months I've had 3 bad experiences with this Rip Curl store in Bedford Centre. The most recent one: I was there on Saturday 25.07.2020 and found a pair of sunglasses I liked. I asked the gent to keep them for me until Wednesday 29.07.2020 where I will pay and collect them before 18h00. Upon arriving I was informed that the glasses have a scratch on them, which I didn't notice when trying them on. I asked the gent and the lady to see if it will be possible to source a new pair or give me more discount on the scratched ones. I called the store Thursday afternoon after not hearing back. (How long can it take to get an answer about a pair of sunglasses). The gent told me his manager said they are already marked down on special, along with most goods in the store, so if I want them that is what the price is, it is my decision. I found the same pair for R100 more somewhere else, scratch free and the option to return them if they are faulty or have a scratch. Guess who will get the sale... Customer Service in this store is non existing. Sad because I love this brand but this will sink them.
