I am a self employed business owner and have been advertising in the Rising Sun Chatsworth Newspaper for many years. About 2 years ago I made arrangements with Soobashnee in their Chatsworth Office, to advertise only 3 times in a month in their Classified section. As per our agreement I have been doing efts every month ensuring that I paid for my 3 weeks of advertising diligently. This year I receive a call saying that I am in arrears and will be handed over to attorneys if my arrears amount is not settled. After much confusion on my part and further investigation, it appears that without my knowledge or consent, they decided to start putting my advert in their Classifieds section for 5 times a month and now I'm supposed to be paying for something which goes against what I have requested from them and which they failed to inform me about. I do not live in Chatsworth and therefore I had no knowledge about the increase in advertising which was done without my consent. To date, I keep requesting fot them to inform me who took it upon themselves to add advertising costs onto my account and to date my queries have been brushed aside. I will not recommend anyone to advertise with this newspaper as it clear that they are incompetent and without integrity.!!!

They have been doing a great job over the years by keeping the Chatsworth community informed of local, national and international news. A great way for local businesses to get exposure and share their services #SupportLocal

I am sure why the rising sun only deliver one newspaper to a block of flats . Plus their delivery guys are so lazy , they leave the paper at beginning of driveway . By doing this they make it easy for passabyes to take the newspaper .#BlackFriday

Wonderful local newspaper which carries interesting news in different communities. It is really a great service to communities who often cannot afford to buy newspapers. It also carries many interesting promotions and events. I enjoy reading this paper very much. However, sadly, perhaps unknown to the owners, the delivery people ask for money from households for giving them the paper. One guy asked me for a few rands because he was thirsty!!! I felt very intimidated because I had just taken the newspaper from him at my home and he then came up to my car and demanded money. Furthermore there are too many adverts which is a good and bad thing because often the adverts outweigh the news greatly. That's when it gets really disappointing.
