They cancelled my booking and I haven’t received a refund on my deposit.

January 2023 I booked my baby shower function with Riverside Castle and paid the booking deposit. I went into labour early and as a result I was unable to host the event. I contacted them via email and they confirmed that my booking could be moved under these circumstances. I fell pregnant again shortly after and confirmed if my deposit was still secure with them to host a new baby shower and they told me it was not because they don’t move dates. I then forwarded the string of emails in which they had agreed to hold my deposit for a later date. After 2 weeks of silence from their side, they then confirmed that they would host another date and asked which date I would like to book. Since I hadn’t responded with a new date within 24hrs of them requesting a new date, they cancelled my booking. I then requested that they refund me the money as it was not my cancellation but theirs. I have been waiting since the 16th of June 2023 for my refund. They still have not paid it back to me.

This is theft. A company cannot cancel a service or product that has been paid in advance without refunding the client.
