Entered a competition an online. Got a message that we won a Smeg kettle. Paid the R 60.00 fee to songsrsuper.com. No OTP was asked for. Usually, after you enter your card details you have to submit for payment and then the the site will request for the OTP before the transaction is completed. According to ABSA bank because we gave our banking details on the website and accepted the request to make the payment and that this group are not registered on the VISA banking authentication system, an OPT will not be sent from ABSA to verify the transaction. In this case it did not. Shortly thereafter a completely different website called RollMoon.com deducted another ZAR 60.00 from the same account without us visiting their website or making a transaction. Once again, no OTP was requested. WHY DO THE BANKS DEMAND THAT WE ONLY COMPLETE INTERNET TRANSACTIONS USING AN OTP TO PROTECT OURSELVES AND THEN DO NOT ON INFORM US THAT THERE ARE WEBSITES OUT THERE NOT REGISTERED ON THE VISA AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM WHICH DO NOT REQUIRE OPT'S TO TAKE YOUR MONEY. YOU OBEY AND YOU ARE VIOLATED BY THE BANKING INSTITUTIONS, YOU DISOBEY AND THE SAME THING HAPPENS! Thank you to all those ********s out there, including the banking system, that prey on us gullible working class *****s. I am sure that several people have contacted their banking institutions regarding these *****sters, why have the banks, with all of the tech that we have today, not made a system to record and identify these websites so that they can warn their customers prior to them losing their hard earned income.
