Disappointing service
I recently visited Roti and Chai in Rose bank. While the food itself was good, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor service. We ordered chips with our meal, which never arrived. When we eventually managed to get the waitress’s attention, she informed us that they had forgotten the chips. Throughout our visit, we struggled to get assistance — we called the waitress multiple times and were ignored. Unfortunately, the manager was also unresponsive when we tried to raise the issue. Good food, but the service needs serious improvement.

Disappointing service
I recently visited Roti and Chai in Rose bank. While the food itself was good, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor service. We ordered chips with our meal, which never arrived. When we eventually managed to get the waitress’s attention, she informed us that they had forgotten the chips. Worst food ever!!
Roti and Chai in Umhlanga has the worst so called "Indian food". My wife and I were not very hungry so we thought a light snack would suffice. As we were staying at the Pearls, we decided to try Roti and Chai downstairs. THE BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!! Our samoosas were drenched in oil. We only ate 2 of the 8 we ordered as it was sickening. The mince one was also filled with excess onion. The aloo paratha had no spice in it. We asked for chili sauce which they don't have. This is an "Indian restaurant". They offered us tomato sauce. To top it all off, that experience cost us R240 (2 teas included). When we complained to the manager, she only said they will look into it and then handed us our bill without another word or apology.

Roti and Chai - massive price - minimum taste and portion!
I went to the restaurant with my partner and ordered the prawn naan wrap. The food arrived , the portion was dismal with absolutely no flavour. The portion cost R110 but in terms of value and taste was probably worth a tenth of that. They need to review their recipe as I tasted food out of cans that tasted better. I certainly won't waste my money and time on that place anymore.

On the 8/12/22 we went to the *Roti and Chai* restaurant at the Suncoast food court for our Xmas lunch.We are old age pensioners living in an Old age facility.A package deal was advertised at this restaurant for R49 for 2 cups of tea, 1 roti showing greens on top of it, and 4 samoosas.We gave the assistant R50 for 1 pack.We asked her about the tea and she said it was 5 roses.We told her that we expected Chai tea and she said no it was not.So we asked her to refund as we did not want 5 roses.She said that the order had already gone thru and she could not refund.We asked for the manager and she said he was not there.So we told her to call and tell him that we wanted a refund.She did and he refused.She was becoming agitated and unreasonable.We we’re given no choice but to take that meal.What was shown on the photo of that meal but what we got were very deceiving.The roti had NO greens was like leather and soggy.We had to throw it away.It was rolled in a grease proof and given to us.We explained to her that we are old age pensioners and dissatisfied with food but it made no difference .We will NOT buy anything from that restaurant ever again neither will we recommend it to any of our friends or family.

Rotten Service Roti and Chai!!!!!!!
We visited this restaurant when it was opened after almost a week at Umhlanga. We ordered after sitting for fifteen minutes with nobody to attend to us(we did not want to go immediately after they opened because we knew their service was average and we chose the perfect timing). We waited for our food for about an hour and I called the waiter over to say that my kids were very hungry, the waiter agreed to bring at least something for the kids to snack on, we waited another half an hour and then the waiter came with my something for my son(plain chips), we waited another ten minutes before I asked my family to proceed to the car while I pay the waiter for the chips only and we left Roti and Chai mad with hunger(my wife and daughter especially), I am a man and I won't complain for myself but this complaint is got my family. We also noticed the owner giving certain customers VIP treatment whilst all this went on.

Tiny portions at Roti and Chai
Ordered a happy hour combo on Mr Delivery for 2 paneer wraps. What I received could barely fill a kid. Food tasted great but the portions to price ration need a hard look. I mean I know it was a special, but if you're serving mini wraps say so, don't fool people who are hungry.
