On the 21/05/2021 I visited the office of Royal Tent and Tarp in Benoni. A lady by the name of Ms. Nomvula Silinda attended to me. I placed an order for catering equipment to the value of R112 000. Included among the items bought was 100 Tiffany clear resin chairs. As the items were not available in the store at that time Nomvula told me to come back at a later date to collect the merchandise once it has arrived from their branch in Durban. About a week or so later I received a call that the chairs had arrived. Due to work commitments I couldn't get to the shop myself so I sent my two sons to collect on my behalf. When the chair arrived at my storage I noticed that about 20 were not completely new. They had scratches, paint marking on the seats and on the legs. I immediately called Nomvula to make her aware that some of the chairs were not of a good quality. Nomvula informed me that the chairs were delivered from their factory in that condition and there was nothing she could do. I was confused at the time and didn't know what to do. As the lock down regulations were in force I packed the chairs as there were no clients for my business. I only used the chairs about two weeks ago and my clients complained about the quality of the chairs. I called Nomvula and asked if I could bring back the chairs which were not of a good quality. She started blaming me for not reporting the problem to the office. It is not true because I called her and she casually dismissed my concern. I paid an amount of R49500 for the chairs and feel terribly let down by Nomvula' s lack of commitment in resolving my problem. I'm taking this matter up with my legal advisor but want to warn potential customers of Royal Tent and Tarp of the poor, uncaring and unprofessional service that the store gives to its customers. I insist on having these chairs replaced as a matter of fact and I will not relent on making sure that it happens. I certainly won't be doing any more business with Royal Tent and Tarp in Benoni or elsewhere in the country because of their lack of customer care. Maybe there are other clients who have a similar experience like mine reading this review. I will encourage them to communicate with me on 065 818 4144 so that together we can put a stop to this type of bad service😭😭😭
