Repeated debit orders and misrepresentation regarding debt review removal today

I'm lodging this complaint regarding an entity identifying itself as RP Attorneys.

I was informed that they could assist with the removal of my name from debt review. Based on this representation, I paid R8 000 and was later instructed to sign a mandate.

I was not informed that removal from debt review is only possible once all debts are settled in full and through a registered debt counsellor. This was later confirmed to me by the National Credit Regulator.

Despite disputing the matter and instructing my bank to cancel the mandate, repeated debit orders of R6 300 have been processed, causing severe financial distress.

I have escalated this matter to my bank, the National Credit Regulator, and the relevant ombud bodies, and I am seeking:

an immediate stop to all debit orders, and

a full refund of all amounts deducted.

I'm requesting urgent engagement and resolution of this matter.
