Complaint: I was approached by RS Debt Clear, who claimed to work with the National Credit Regulator (NCR). They told me they would help negotiate lower interest rates on my vehicle finance, but I have received no proof whatsoever that they negotiated anything with my bank. The consultant specifically told me that I would still be paying my respective creditors, only at reduced rates. However, they added a debit order mandate in my name — yet I have no idea what I am paying for, what the terms are, or where the money is going. To this day, no proof or breakdown has been sent to me. RS Debt Clear also sent me unusual insurance policy documents, which they then used to misuse my signature. Without my knowledge or consent, they submitted a Form 17.1 to place me under debt counselling. I never signed or authorised this process. Any telephonic discussions I had with them were misleading, as they misrepresented their services and never explained that I was being placed under debt counselling. This has caused unnecessary stress and could negatively affect my credit record. Desired Outcome: Immediate cancellation of the *****ulent debt counselling. Issuance of a Form 17.2(a) Rejection Letter. Removal of any debit order mandates linked to RS Debt Clear. Full disclosure of where my money has gone, if any debit orders have already been processed. Investigation into RS Debt Clear’s conduct, as they misled me, misused my personal information, and operated without transparency.
