Wanted to book for the rugby during Loadshed. They said they wont put on the generator which i understand and is fine and weve decided to not go anymore because there is no use. They phoned me back after a while to confirm that they will put on the generator and do we still want to come. We decided to go. Weve never been to this place before. As we got there we just thought to ask the waiter what time they will be closing. He was not sure and said he thought they wont put on the generator for the loadshed time. (I immediately thought how are these people communicating?) I showed him my messages and confirmation that they will be open while it is loadshed. After alot of drama the owner came and it was almost time for our pizzas to come aswell which we ordered because weve thought we will sit there to watch the game. The owner had no business skills at all. She started off by complaining about the cost of the generator and that she is selling it. (I said to her i do understand but how is that my problem or solving my situation) she even told me if i want to stay she can put the generator on on my cost. What on earth? Her excuse for the miscommunication is the following: they've got a call for a booking from Rassie Erasmus and thought its the Springbok coach which will be worth it to keep the restaurant open. But then i wasn't him so they cant keep the generator on anymore. So they will put it on for someone famous just for advertising purposes? Why dont they just said to me that listen we will maybe put on the generator depending on the number of people but we dont want to take bookings? I told the manager i cant eat or take the pizza because we have to go somewhere else to eat, drink and watch the rugby game and her answer was do i want the pizza for free or what? We wanted to go out for the game and to enjoy food & drinks. We didn't plan to get freebies. I just stood up after a long battle that is not worth my time and left and went home because by that time the game started and our mood was bumped! I will not return to this place. Your waiters was helpful and friendly and im truly sorry for them.

Decided to try something new to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our waitress was very delightful and that's about all I can say about this place. First time at Rusty oak and our last visit. We ordered main meal pork belly and smoked sirloin with glazed mango.... Sounds awesome and even the waitress explained to us how good it look on photos but it was a fail. Will not go back,, no value for Money here
