On my previous review, I complained about the fact that rugs were advertised on the online catalogue, without specifically stating that they are not hand-woven but machine made. Happy to report that Sandton Auctioneers refunded me in full for my purchase. Give compliments where compliments are due.

I have often pre-Covid, participated in live auctions from Sandton Auctioneers. In all cases, persian rugs auctioned were hand-knotted. I bid online for a rug which was described as "tufted Kazak runner" on the catalogue. This did not at any point in time reflect that the rug in fact is machine made and not hand-knotted. When I received the invoice it was quoted "Kazak design runner" which immediately rung an alarm bell. When I called their offices, I was told that I should have viewed the items beforehand to ensure that I knew what I was bidding on and that the rug is machine made. This is misrepresentation. Beware before you bid online.
