Horrified at the locksmith price

I just had two locks changed on my door, I’m new to sandton so I’m aware that locksmiths charge higher here but this was ridiculous, it cost me nearly R5000 to have two locks changed, I found it odd that when I called them I explained exactly what was needed, upon arrival the guy did not have the right equipment and had to leave and come back both times it took well over an hour wait, when he arrived back he gave me the invoice, did he leave to make up some crazy price? He said it was a common lock, am I crazy or has anyone else paid this?
