Sean was called to fix a basic pipe irrigation leak by my unwitting tenant and was charged R1230.00. Sean re-used MY high-pressure connecters and helped himself to the extras not needed (Yes, he took them, you should return them Sean) Sean charged R250 for parts and R980 workmanship The pipe Sean used was worth about R50.00 at a push, nice 400% plus mark-up. Time needed - Ten minutes or less. Parts Cost - R50,00 OR LESS Normal Working Day/Hours - Yes Skill Level Required - Low Distance to job - Sandton to Lonehill Job Description - Replaced 1m or less of irrigation pipe. Effective Labour Rate Charge per hour R5880,00 for low skilled work. What Sean has done is not *******, he can charge what he likes, that is his prerogative as is it mine to share this experience. I can't comment on the workmanship as the repair was too basic to judge, but I can confirm the damaged pipe was replaced. It seems this company and Sean himself are not only happy to apply ludicrous rates to unsuspecting clients but also didn't mind taking parts off site that don't belong to him, thinking it won't be noticed. It was. I would exercise huge caution with Sean Allison plumbing. You have been warned.
