This hospital has shocking patient care in their surgical ward. I was their for a peroid of about 4 days, I am shock at how such an expensive hospital can still function and still be allowed to have nurses even looking after patients. Firstly, when a patient complaints about pain, listen to the patient. 1. When a nurse walks away from a patient after the patient has complained about pain or pushed the bell one to many times and making comments to other nurse in their language and laughing, does not make a patient feel comfortable especially when the patients are can hear uou using their surname while you laughing and talking in the nurses language, that is UNACCEPTABLE! 2. Not aiding assistance to patients that cant help themselves when they only have one arm/hand to use if not ACCEPTABLE! 3. Taking very long to attend to bells ringing due to being gatvol of the patient is UNACCEPTABLE! 4. Eating on chappies/beachies while talking to a patient is very discusting, that is NOT ACCEPTABLE. 5. Not changing bedding for 4 days is UNACCEPTABLE, I slep between my own ****** pillows for 2 days and begged for clean pillow cases. All the above happened to me and I am shocked and disturbing how nurses can treat patients like that! Laughing and gossiping with other nurses and laughing while I can hear you using my surname in the passage is NEVER acceptable, I don't care what the hospital policies say or what the country says it is not OK and it is NOT fair on a PATIENTS well being. In the medical ward, the theater they don't act like that, why in the surgical ward. It is SHOCKING AND UNACCEPTABLE!! This should be reported to higher medical boards in SOUTH AFRICA.
