Unreliable partner service
A payment through Wise from Australia should have reached me on 1 June. But on 4 June I am still waiting for the necessary form from Sikhona Money Transfers, used by Wise as its partner in Cape Town, South Africa.

05 Jun 2025, 06:38I have discovered that the sender got my email address wrong. I will ask him to correct it. Meanwhile, Sikhona has my phone number and could have contacted me to report a problem sending the form. I see their office is not far from me in Cape Town.

The person I spoke to said they receive calls every day from clients who are having problems because people send money through online money transfer companies over whom the bank has no control. Maybe Sikhona is a ****? Why is Wise using a partner with so many bad reviews on Hellopeter? Also bad Google reviews.

Further, I phoned my bank's forex. No money has been received. The person I spoke to said they receive calls every day from clients who are having problems because people send money through online money transfer companies over whom the bank has no control. Maybe Sikhona is a ****? Why is Wise using a partner with so many bad reviews on Hellopeter? Also bad Google reviews.

05 Jun 2025, 12:23After I emailed Sikhona customer care I received a form to complete. It asked lots of questions, and for a photo of me holding the ID book! I suppose they have to guard against ******* use of international transfers. I was paid within an hour of submitting the form. I was very impressed with the speedy email response from Sikhona customer care.

I would like to write another review giving Sikhona four stars, since the muddles were due to the sender getting my email address wrong. I would give five stars if the customer care had phoned me to alert me to the problem.
