Hi I rented property from them from August 2024 to March 2025. When I moved in they did not do inspection of the property. Whenever I had issues maintenance, they never assisted. Upon my departure, they withheld R2,032.14 of my R6,600.00 deposit. They claimed R350 inspection fee, which was not performed when I moved in and when I left. Rental amount included water, refuse, basic facility, sewer which they claimed was outstanding when I left, although in my statement, they appeared as negative in my monthly statement. A lady who goes by the name, Natasha Schweiger works for this company she lies to me about inspection and she unfairly charged me,

I was renting a house from a private person Colleen Eliot, I could not afford the place anymore so I gave her the required two months notice, a few days before moving out I received a bill from SILVERLINE PROPERTIES for the month that I was moving out (OCT 2015). I called her and she said I should not speak to her anymore but directly to the agency to get my deposit and rectify the account. I found this very unprofessional. The agency then started bombarding me with smses and calls to pay the bill after I had moved out and demanded proof that I had given the 2 months notice! I demanded my deposit and they gave me the run around for 2 months, I had to constantly email them demanded my money! They finally send me a fabricated bill amounting to the deposit amount for the utilities and rent of October 2015!

Meaning I would not get a cent of my R7500 deposit back! How is this possible? Does one have to pay the rent and utilities on their departure?? Its sad that Estate Agencies and Landlords in the south are doing this to people. This is exactly why people do not give notice and just vacate premises. My only mistake was being a law abiding citizen.
