On the 15th of May 2025 I made a payment of R1522 for duplicate papers there wasn’t a change of ownership made by the previous owners so the vehicle was still owned by SMD since it was purchased by the previous owner and the papers was lost so now the car is in my possession and I’ve paid and app**** for the duplicate papers and since then there was no communication I’ve been continuously emailing them and phoning them but I do net get an answer back it’s very frustrating as this month is now the third month since I’ve made payment with no feedback from them whatsoever, they told me that the duplicate would take 3 weeks after payment but it has been well over 2 months , so how long could this take half a year or a full year or do they just not care to help even if I’m not a client of SMD I bought the car and it is in my possession and my uncle previously bought the car from SMD so he is the client and he does not have the time to dispute these matters that’s why we made an affidavit with a certified copy of his ID , what’s so difficult for them just to get in one of their cars and physically go to the licensing department to dispute the matter because surely it can’t take more then 2 months to print out a duplicate paper , I do not know what to do anymore, I stay all the way in Pretoria and it is difficult for me to travel to Boksburg for nothing as I did before .
