My bag was stolen at Soceiti Bistro in Cape Town

My bag was stolen at this establishment last Friday (11 May, around 8.30pm) during a private function arranged by my workplace. I lost my wallet, car keys, bank cards, drivers license, and other sentimental items.

When I first got to the area that evening (which is cornered off from the rest of your establishment) I felt relatively safe seeing as the area was only meant for me and my colleagues. However in retrospect I recall that actually this private area is quite accessible from Orange Street in Cape Town. To get to this cordoned off area you do not actually have to walk through to restaurant. This poses a serious safety risk to your clients.

I suggest that you perhaps warn future customers to look after their belongings even when they are surrounded by people they know, or perhaps invest in security cameras. This is unfortunately the reality of the city center, however petty crime should never be brushed off as simply a 'norm' in our society.

Since the incident I have not received any communication or an apology from anyone from your restaurant despite having left my name and phone number with one of your staff.
