My aircon was not heating anymore. I contacted Spinx Property Management (Pretoria) to help with the problem.
They charged me R674.00 to come out to "identify the problem". And a further R 1560 to fix the problem. I immediately paid them. When I got home that night, they left the aircon on (it was blasting for more than 8 hours with open door and windows) and the problem still wasn't fixed. The aircon was still not heating the room.
When I contacted them about this, they sent another technician to have a look. I was subsequently informed that the outside unit needed to be flushed and that they needed to take it in to the shop. They assured me the technician would be back at 16:00 the following day to reinstall the flushed outside unit.
At 15:53 the next day I received a message informing me that the technician is on his way to my house. I left my work early to meet him. At 17:53 he still didn't show up. After I enquired what the problem was, the technician informed me that he was still working on the unit and didn't know who sent me the message.
In the meantime I had my house plastered and couldn't have the outside unit installed for another week.
After they came back to install the flushed outside unit, the aircon was still not heating the room and the condensor pipe was hanging against my window. The technician "forgot" to connect it.
At the moment, after two technicians "repaired" the unit and I paid almost R2500, it is still not heating up the room. I also have no peace of mind that they didn't actually cause any additional damage to the aircon with their "repairs".
Not to be recommended. Not only can they not fix the problem, the customer care is atrocious.
