Worst experience ever. Visited nd currently staying here this Christmas 2022. Firstly on Christmas eve the outside light of our silo wasnt working...we ended up braaing in with our phone torch. On Christmas day we requested them to clean up our silo while we was out for about 2 nd half hours ..we came back our silo was not even touched we had to clean up on our own. We cudnt even make our Christmas lunch coz the electricity in our silo only was off for 3hrs then wen it does come back on through the generator...they say by 10pm it will go off...which is ridiculous coz we delayed in our cooking nd to top things off must sleep early coz theres nothing else to do when the generator is off. Also they did not state no appliances likes airfryer or instant pot/ oven must be used ... forcing us to use the restaurant or braai. Truly a horrible experience definitely will not be booking here again ...not forgetting the water pressure is not stable nd the staff does not check up on us... truly disappointed in the cleaning service also.

My client witch is a groom to got married that time asked me to cater they wedding at st ives lodge and venue...st ives did not wanted to allow outside caterers and my client insisted after a big fuss they allowed me to cater...but charge me a 10% commision on my quote to my client for use of their kitchen..when i arrived atbthe venue just after 08:00 witch i flew in from another region and this they new i gotbin the kitchen they chef told me that i can only start at 10:30 to 11:00 as he is still busy with breakfast my first food needed to go out at 13:00. It was on the email they sent me that o can start at 08:00..as i wait i started to get my utensils and ingredients ready then i was told i am not allowed to use the kitchen utensils or allowed to fully cook in the kitchen..this is after they approved my 3 course plated menu and new what was on my menu. So this was just plain sputefull and childish because they lost the catering for the function..ok as we go i was finished in time and for dinner..they told me in the terms and conditions signed with them it said i must bring my own kitchen utensils and equipment. Witch they never stipulated out to me. They made false deffinition of caracter telling on social media that some of the wedding guest wanted to order pizza of my bad food..witch is not true. There was not even pizza available and the client thanked me for the great food and service. Even hes guest called me to the tables to wrath and rave about the good food. The guest told me of the bad experience with the venue in terms of the wedding itself and cocroaches ect in their beds and rooms.

They confronted the reception in front of me.

They new o had pannacotta on my menu and i asked for a hand blender they told me to go buy one while there are standing 2 in their kitchen. This was the most shocking and terrible experience as SA The traveling chef at a venue ever. And the client service as i was their client i paid for a kitchen witch i was not allowed to use.

Then we get to the poor terrible unprofessional management..the GM itself is not there at all for a wedding at her venue she sents her sister to be the face of st ives for the day to run the wedding in jeans flipflops and a sweater shirt.

I am soo dissapointed in this place that me as the owner of the travelling chef will never ever participate with them ever again.
