Rotten and disgusting. ***********. Must hire good doctors who are willing to work. Your doctor are going over an hour for tea break and people are complaining and leaving without any help. Only one doctor checking one person for more than an hour. Improve your services and hire people will care about people.

Yesterday 14 May 2025, I was at Baragwanath St John, so had an appointment for my son the process was well from registering to checking my eyes son on alphabet side with sister's and nurses, then the problem became at Room E, the doctor there super rude, you try to explain what's happening he becomes frastrated, which when we come to get the Date for new date the first time we were not given any instructions about the medication which should be placed on the eye three days before the child comes, now when I explain he states I Qoute "you waisting my time", I apologized and asked for another date so that I don't fight him, which it made me think how many more patients does he say the same thing on everyday basis, ad if this is the manner which the Doctor should act on us, please St John hire people who are willing to work for the people not against the people.

My nephew went to the St John Eye Hospital, hoping that they would be willing to complete his classification form for blind cricket. The Protea team was invited to India at short notice and leaves next week. All our interactions with staff were friendly and we found the correct queue thanks to the directions we received. The opthalmologist was very professional and immediately realized that his rare eye condition needed regular checkups. Not only was his form completed, he has an appointment at the closest hospital to his place of residence, the Jhb Society for the Blind. What a pleasant surprise at the start of Friday.

Poor service, I was referred by my local clinic because my 1 year old son has been having teary, red swollen eyes with discharge, The Srs at the clinic tried and failed then refered me here. I woke up very early, had to waste my Uber money to be returned at the door by stuff that is not even identified and very rude, tells me that it's cold, hence the eyes are red and swollen. I am literally ****ed off. Quality team, their phones just rings with no answer

I have a problem with my eyes and I used to take my treatment at Charlotte Maxeke before it unfortunately caught fire. Due to the situation at Charlotte Maxeke I was transferred to saint John's eye hospital. I have been going there for the whole of 2021 and I kept getting a postpone for my surgery. I was never properly checked all they do is give me medication and change it Everytime I go back. They even told me that the medication they are giving to me won't help me. They are just a temporary option for me to avoid pain. They won't help in my vision. I wish I could return to Charlotte Maxeke and complete my treatment.

The hospital postpone the elders eyes surgery till they can't see completely. If the people are referred by the doctor why the surgery should be postponed 3 to 4 times before they can be attended. This is really bad service, worse my mother was told to stay in bed since she can't even watch TV. Is not like they don't have enough labour to perform the surgery.

I have been waiting on a queue to open a new file for 4 hours. Still waiting. It takes takes about 45 minutes to an hour for one file to be opened. Extremely unacceptable service.
