Sadly this bank who I have entrusted for over 45 years has shown it is now too big to care . I really needed backing and they threw "The book of rules at me" I am a pensioner and I needed to sell my motor vehicle in order to help pay for my wife's cancer treatment .The buyer paid cash into my account unknowingly after hours at an autobank and immediately I was charged cash deposit fee.(+- R2600.00) I needed every cent of this money and although I immediately alerted my bank the very next day they just told me it is policy they cannot reimburse I explained I really needed this money and went into detail about my wife's condition(ie stage 4 breast cancer which has spread all over her body,it has been a four year journey) They responded they would hold my banking fees for 3 months which equated to about a quarter of the cash deposit fee. What was also interesting was they did not respond to any of my e mails they only called via telecon. What is really sad is a Bank is not bricks and mortar it is about people and management ethics and care and perhaps sometimes at their discretion going the extra mile case by case. I helped build them to what they are today in a small way "
