I am writing this review with a heavy heart!!!
I took my vehicle to Steve’s Auto Clinic in Boksburg after struggling to find the cause of a water leak. I was initially impressed with the friendly and welcoming attitude of the sales staff. Unfortunately, the service experience that followed was extremely disappointing.
After inspection, I was told the problem was with the radiator, which they replaced and claimed from my vehicle warranty. Within two days, the car was leaking water again. When I returned, they said it was only an air pocket and sent me away to monitor it. The problem persisted, and I again sent them photos showing water on my driveway.
On the third visit, they kept the car for two days and eventually found a leak on the oil cooler, again claiming this repair under warranty. I collected the vehicle, but after about six days, the car was still losing water. This time, the water was leaking from the top of the water bottle, an issue that was never present before and appears to have been caused during their previous repairs.
I contacted the salesperson and asked for the owner to call me directly, but to date I have not received any feedback or follow-up.
After several visits, warranty claims, and continued inconvenience, I feel that the workmanship and accountability at this branch are far below acceptable standards. It’s disappointing to see that once payment or warranty claims are processed, the customer experience and proper problem resolution seem to fall away completely.
I would strongly recommend that anyone using this branch ensures proper diagnosis before any work is approved, and that management improves communication and quality control.
I am now looking into contacting the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa to assist me in either recovering the warranty claim funds or to have the issue properly resolved elsewhere.
