My latest experience with Stevs Auto clinic Stikland is a prime example of why its very important to read the reviews about not only a company but especially if it’s a different branch During the week of the 15th of January 2026, I called Steves Auto Clinic in Stikland in the hope that they could service my vehicle. For almost two decades I have been servicing my vehicles at Steves Auto Clinic. Even for the year that I was in Pretoria, I serviced my vehicle at Steves Auto Clinic. My usual branch was Milnerton, despite the fact that its quite far out of the way from where I live and initially worked. I subsequently dropped my vehicle at the Stikland branch at about 07h30 on Monday the 19th of January 2026. I requested several times to have the quotation for the major service before I drop my vehicle but this request like numerous others seemed to have fell on deaf ears. After I dropped my vehicle, I was expecting a call at about 11am to give me an update on the vehicle. This was the norm all the years at the Milnerton branch. Their communication was on point and gave me an extra sense of security that my vehicle was in the right hands and that I was continuously update on progress. When I eventually called at about, I was informed that apart from the major service cost, the V belts had to be replaced, EGR & CAT delete with software update as well as the Brake Master Cylinder had to be replaced. This brought the total to R16060. The major issue was that it would delay me collecting the vehicle on the 19th. Collecting my vehicle the same day was very important at that late stage in the day since making alternate arrangements would be nearly impossible. I therefore I opted to have those services (the brakes and Cat) delayed on the understanding that it would not affect or damage my vehicle. I was then informed that I could collect the vehicle later that same day. I stressed the importance of getting my vehicle back the same day and explained that my choice of what gets to be done was dictated by me having to get my vehicle back the same day. When it reached late into the day, I decided to call to check on progress. I was then informed that the wrong belts were sent and that the car would not be ready. This was devastating news and I had to jostle around to arrange transport home and back to work the next day and to collect the vehicle on the 20th of January 2026. I also did some research on what exactly , EGR & CAT delete with software update was. I only then realised that the procedure is quite severe and that this should obviously have been explained to me as it might very well affect my motor warranty. On the 20th I had to call the branch and was informed that it should be ready at 15h00 and that the belts should arrive in 10 minutes. They were going to call me back to confirm everything is ok. When they failed to call, I called back just before 1pm and was informed that 15h00 should still be ok. I was also informed that one belt was incorrect and that it will be replaced. When I got there at about 15h45, I was informed that one belt keeps on twisting and that something is wrong with the belt. They would have to get a new belt and I would have to return to have in installed. I shared my frustrations with Justin and explained that their service was bad and unacceptable. I then arranged to have the new belt installed on Wednesday at 14h00. As destiny would have it. I forgot my cell at home and sent an email to Steves Auto Clinic early the morning to inform Justin of my situation and that any communication should be done via email. I eventually got no response and called the landline, 021 007 1390 , and informed Justin that I forgot my cell at home. All communication via my email. He was unable to indicate when the belt would arrive and agreed to send me an email after he enquires from his boss. This too was an exercise where I had to prod them for progress. I was eventually informed that it would be ready for installation when I am available. I arranged to be there at 13h00. I got there just before 13h00 and the belt was installed. I also had to inform Justin that he completed the service book in the wrong place and failed to insert the mileage. A I left, I noticed and number appearing on the dash when I start the car. Justin told me not to worry and that he will call me later about what it means. I am still waiting. Now there is a lot of uncer*****y in life but one thing is for sure, I will never return to Steves Auto clinic in Stikland. After the fact I have also checked out the reviews and it further confirmed that I am not the only one that left extremely unhappy about the services rendered. I will be taking my vehicle back to the Milnerton branch in due course to have it checked out again.

I booked my car at Steve Auto Clinic Centurion for a gearbox repair. The gearbox was fixed, but when I got the car back it made a loud noise. I wasn’t sure if the problem was from the gearbox or the wheels, so I contacted the workshop. I was told there was nothing they could do since the gearbox was already sorted. I took the car to another mechanic who discovered that the wheels had not been tightened properly. Three nuts were already out, and the car was driving with only one nut holding the wheel. This was a serious safety risk that could have caused a major accident. When I informed Steve Auto Clinic Centurion, all I got was a simple apology with no accountability or concern for what could have happened. This shows a lack of professionalism and care for customer safety. I strongly advise others not to take their cars there.

I booked my car at Steve Auto Clinic Centurion for a gearbox repair. The gearbox was fixed, but when I got the car back it made a loud noise. I am writing this review with a heavy heart!!! I took my vehicle to Steve’s Auto Clinic in Boksburg after struggling to find the cause of a water leak. I was initially impressed with the friendly and welcoming attitude of the sales staff. Unfortunately, the service experience that followed was extremely disappointing. After inspection, I was told the problem was with the radiator, which they replaced and claimed from my vehicle warranty. Within two days, the car was leaking water again. When I returned, they said it was only an air pocket and sent me away to monitor it. The problem persisted, and I again sent them photos showing water on my driveway. On the third visit, they kept the car for two days and eventually found a leak on the oil cooler, again claiming this repair under warranty. I collected the vehicle, but after about six days, the car was still losing water. This time, the water was leaking from the top of the water bottle, an issue that was never present before and appears to have been caused during their previous repairs. I contacted the salesperson and asked for the owner to call me directly, but to date I have not received any feedback or follow-up. After several visits, warranty claims, and continued inconvenience, I feel that the workmanship and accountability at this branch are far below acceptable standards. It’s disappointing to see that once payment or warranty claims are processed, the customer experience and proper problem resolution seem to fall away completely. I would strongly recommend that anyone using this branch ensures proper diagnosis before any work is approved, and that management improves communication and quality control. I am now looking into contacting the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa to assist me in either recovering the warranty claim funds or to have the issue properly resolved elsewhere.

3 weejs ago i booked my vehicle for repair to coolant leak. First I was told its the water bottle, which was replaced. Then i was told its the oil pump whuch was repaired, the i was told it was a water pipe, which was replaced. On collection of the vehicle last Friday, affter driving 5km a warning light came on. I returned immediately. It was checked and i was told it a airlock. This was the repaired, and i was assured everything was sorted as i explained i was heading to Mpumalanga and dud not want to have problems. I was told test were done and all is fine. The following morning at 3am i started my journey. I hadly got 20km when the warning came on again. I had to abandon my trip and return home as it was Saturday and they were closed. Monday morning I returned and after tests, was told its the cooler pump. What makes matters worse, i stressed the urgency. I had to follow up to find out the progress as its Friday again. Vehicle was in workshop andvtest had to be done. It then turned out that the vehicle would not be ready, and will only be ready next week. This is extremely disappointing, as again im stranded without transport

I am really sorry to post this but I am NOT a happy customer. I booked my Landcruiser 100 vx v8 in for a service and a dyna and was promised I get it in the afternoon. I called at 14h28 and asked if there are issues and got told not major issues. I arrived at 16h20 and were told they couldn't do the dyna because there is an issue with the injectors. They will send it away and I will get it tomorrow. This is bull**** - I live in Skeerpoort and specifically booked the service here to get the car the same day. Pathetic and poor customer service. I am so disappointed. All promises but nothing to show. Never in my life again.

I have a little Honda Jazz. I've owned it for 17 years and it is nearing its 350,000 km mark. Recently I started having a few problems with the wheel bearings. A local car servicer in Melkbosstrand replaced the bearings a few times, but I kept hearing a worrying noise. I took my Jazz to Steve's Auto Clinic in Milnerton (Cape Town). They replaced the bearings and CV joints, but when I left the workshop (after my service) my car broke down halfway to my home. I had it towed back to SAC and they were incredibly friendly and apologetic. They fixed the car, free of charge, and told me that a non-genuine part had been installed (the carrier bearing) in a previous service, and that this is what was the root cause of all my wheel bearing replacements and at last, the breakdown. They were completely transparent and polite, and I want to thank all the guys who helped me, especially Clint. I truly appreciate your patience and professionalism! Things go wrong with cars. Dealing with this with so much grace is admirable.

My Polo Vivo has been to Steve's Auto clinic several times for servicing and odd bulbs that die. I have had exclusively positive experiences with them; friendly and efficient staff that have even done some minor repairs free of charge.
