Swaadisht Foods Reservoir Hills - Truly shameful service. I arrange for food from them nearly every week for myself and my ***orkers at the office. They often showed up with the food hours later, but I overlooked it. Today (03/06/2025) at 10:30 am, I ordered 6 chowmein, with 5 being spicy and 1 mild. The woman on the phone informed me that it would take about 45 minutes for delivery to reach me (from Reservoir Hills to Stamford Hill). It was 12:00 when my lunch break started, yet there was no food, no call to inform me of the delay, nothing at all. I contacted them at 12:00 for a status update, and she informed me that the driver had run out of fuel and would take another 30 minutes. By 12:50, there was still no food. I returned the call, and a man picked up. He couldn't provide me with any answers and kept trying to hang up to gather information and call me back. At that moment, he informed me that the driver had left 2 minutes ago. The food gets here at approximately 13:44, we're famished, the dishes weren't labeled spicy or mild, vegetarian or chicken. Every meal was bland and flavorless and ALL were mild .I reached out to voice my complaint, and they offered no resolution except that they could send another delivery to me in 1.5 hours; we couldn't wait any further and decided to eat what we had. Lack of customer support, no resolution, truly awful.

Swaadisht - Oceans Mall Umhlanga - Review - 25.05.2025 The booking was made early in the week for a Sunday family lunch to celebrate a birthday. When we got to Swaadisht at the Oceans Mall, Umhlanga an ungracious hostess directed us to a table set the bottom of the staircase. We had to put up a chilly cross breeze and people using the staircase. We requested being moved to a more private and warmer part of the restaurant. The hostess refused to accommodate us. She was rude, abrupt and intolerant to our request. She insisted that all the tables were booked in advance. Much Ado about nothing, we were finally moved to a table that was 'reserved' for another group. Nobody turned up for said booking. Our food was not up to standard and to a point not edible. None of us ate much. The only items that was acceptable in taste was the lamb (mutton) vindaloo and the butter naan. The prawn curry was too pungent, the broad bean curry didn't look or taste like a curry. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he took it back to the kitchen. It was returned in under 2 minutes worse than before. We barely touched the mutton breyani and chicken breyani. The taste of sojee was more acceptable than the vermicelli. My masala tea had a smell and strange aftertaste. The waiters were unprofessional and loud. The noise from the kitchen was becoming worse as the time dragged along and the loud music was perhaps used to drown out the noise. The dramatic ungracious hostess moved around asking people whether she could video them lunching. She was openly unhappy about being denied the opportunity to video patrons making inaudible babbling sounds. The place lacked ambience and atmosphere. The disgruntled hostess set the mood and tone to our bad experience the moment she met us at the entrance. A definite NO to return to this venue. I believe that we need to support businesses to grow the economy of this country and decrease unemployment. However customer service is important for retention and survival of all businesses especially in the service industry. The service industry engages all 5 senses especially touch, taste and smell..make the effort to gain the customer satisfaction by gratifying of these 5 senses. Make it a gastronomical experience with professional staff. All of these aspects sadly missed it's mark at Swaadisht at the Oceans Mall, Umhlanga.

The quantity of the food is so disappointing. I ordered Mutton Curry (R132 on UberEats). Did I not get TWO SMALL PIECES OF MEAT AND A QUARTER OF A POTATO, SWIMMING IN OIL. Absolute **** guys. Do not purchase from that restaurant- Weltevreden

What a horrible experience I had with the Indian gentleman at the counter. Not only was he rude and unprofessional, but he was also yelling at a customer on the phone. His attitude was absolutely appalling, and I couldn't believe he was still employed there. I don't know why they keep him on staff when it's clear he's driving away customers. If you don't believe me, go there yourself and see for yourself. The first time I visited, he refused to let me pay with my card, claiming it was too late and he was closing up for the day. He couldn't even muster a **** smile. It's a shame that such a terrible employee is tarnishing the reputation of the restaurant

Purchased a quarter hot chicken tikka breast piece with chips and roti yesterday at the chatsworth branch opposite the kfc and the meal was absolutely terrible the chicken was dry with mostly marinate on it and for a breast piece chicken it had no such meat on it. I personally wouldn't even give that to a person on a street nor my dog it was dry and horrible and when taken back to the store there was no apology or remorse it was if it was actually prepared yesterday and sold today to it's customers the worst Tikka I've eaten thus far seeing had it quite literally ruined my lunch break.

We had the most incredible food at the Umhlanga branch on our holiday. We had the bunny chows, breyani and their special Strawberry milkshake. The service was great, and the curry was spiced to perfection. We will definitely be back on our visit!
