I ordered a fireplace and a fire boma from Syam 2015. After they insisted, I paid almost 95% of the invoice, it’s been ten years of an ongoing nightmare. The first meeting with Angus he was almost two hours late and was subsequently late with almost every meeting thereafter. One of the morning he stood me and the builder who was building the structure for the outside up. The week before that I had informed him that the guys were coming to finish the structure and could he avail himself, his phone was off. Everyone, even Bernard tried to call him, he was nowhere to be found.
He then instructed the builders on what to build. He even drew the marks for them. They built exactly what he asked for, in actual fact the first instructions he gave them were incorrect and they had to break the building and rebuild, all at my cost. They installed the incorrect fireplace and I had to run after them for months to be rectified. The day the installation of the Boma was supposed to happen, I was told the installers were stuck in the Kruger National Park because of crocodiles. I was stuck with incorrect equipment for month with Bernard and Angus ignoring my request. The account was taken over by Michael who promised to rectify the disgusting service. Once they installed the fireplace without the proper cover I still do not have the proper cover its now 2025, ten years later, the fireplace was producing black soot that covered the entire house, they sent people to check it several times from 2016 to 2018 two years without replacing the appliances which were not working. When I asked the staff why they dont replace them, I was told that when white people complain and threaten them they act accordingly but reading the reviews its looks their uselessness is experienced by many. They argue that the appliances need occasional service but from 2016 they would come service them, I operate the appliance and then illustrate that it still produces soot. The last time they came their staff said even the way the pipe installation was done was unprofessional as corner piping is not supposed to bend. When I asked him why he didnt fix it as he was here during the installation he said he was afraid to tell installer as he was his boss. Instead of replacing these appliances that never worked instead they installed a shower water drainage metal plate on an appliance they claim has always worked, a shower drainage plate on what they falsely advertise as luxury purchases. The starter for the boma has never worked properly that even the call out people argued that these appliances should have been replaced. When I state all the above to Syd including the feedback from his own staff he said I was using ****** and that I have been dishonest about the appliances not working and that he would send lawyers for defamation of characters and that he has had enough of my complains and attitude which has only been frustration, having to experience ten years of dishonesty, poor services and substandard appliances. I am still waiting till today, Syam are unprofessional and despicable.
