We have ordered a gas heater stand alone and we were forces buy in their build in for the gas heater ,we were charged before we receive the plan for the fire place build in. After they have send through the plan we didn’t like it, we then asked for a refund which was 3 month ago even today we haven’t received our money. Their service is terrible 😢

I ordered a fireplace and a fire boma from Syam 2015. After they insisted, I paid almost 95% of the invoice, it’s been ten years of an ongoing nightmare. At the first meeting with Angus, he was almost two hours late and was subsequently late with almost every meeting thereafter. One morning he stood the builder who was building the structure for the outside boma and I up. The week before that I had informed him that the guys were coming to finish the structure and where he confirmed he could he avail himself on the day his phone was off. Everyone, even Bernard tried to call him, he was nowhere to be found. He then instructed the builders on what to build, he even drew marks for them. They built exactly what he asked for, the instructions he gave them were incorrect and they had to break the building and rebuild, all at my cost. Later Syd revealed that it is company policy to send measurement documents which were only sent after Angus’s incorrect measurements instructions and the rebuild. They then installed the incorrect fireplace, and I had to run after them for months to be rectified. The day the installation of the Boma was supposed to happen, I was told the installers were stuck in the Kruger National Park because of crocodiles. I was stuck with incorrect equipment for months with Bernard and Angus ignoring my requests for assistance. The account was taken over by Michael who promised to rectify the disgusting service. They installed the fireplace without the proper cover; at some point I had two different covers which were both incorrect which I sent back. I still do not have the proper cover it’s now 2025, ten years later. From the purchase of the fireplace black soot produced that covered the entire house, which has put the entire household at risk of respiratory problems, including asthma, bronchitis, and even lung cancer. They sent people to check it several times from 2016 to 2018 two years without replacing the appliances which were not working. When I asked the staff why they don’t replace them, I’m prohibited from repeating their response but reading the reviews it looks their uselessness is experienced by many non-discriminatorily. They argue that the appliances need occasional service but from 2016, after almost a year running after them to complete the installation they would come service them, I operate the appliance and then illustrate that it still produces soot. They refused to replace the appliances even when the installers had advised that that should have been the corrective action. The last time they bought their staff out; the same process over ten years, they said even the way the pipe installation was done was unprofessional as corner piping is not supposed to bend diagonally but at a 90-degree angle. When I asked him why he didn’t do quality control to ensure professionalism as he was here during the installation he said he was afraid to tell the installer as he was his boss. I still do not have a gas certificate of compliance. Instead of replacing these appliances that never worked instead they installed a shower water drainage metal plate on an appliance they claim has always worked. A shower water drainage plate on appliances positioned as luxury brands and purchase is a joke. The starter for the boma has never worked properly that even the call out people argued after coming here several times that these appliances should have been replaced. When I state all the above to Syd including the feedback from his own staff, he said that I have been dishonest about the appliances not working, even when I sent him pictures of the shower drainage plate, his response was that he would send lawyers for defamation of character and that he has had enough of my complaints and attitude which has only been frustration. Additionally, last year their gas cylinder cage door fell off its hinges. What was supposed to be a lovely luxury purchase has turned out to be a ten-year nightmare, poor service and substandard appliances. I am still waiting till today, Syam is unprofessional and useless.

It’s been 6 months since the incorrect goods have been supp****. I ordered and paid for 2 fire features with manual ignition. In January I received 1 fire feature with electronic ignition. I have tried contacting Syd on many occasions to find a way forward but never successfully getting through to him. It’s been excuses after excuses every time I call. Extremely poor service!

It’s been 6 months since the incorrect goods have been supp****. I ordered and paid for 2 fire features with manual ignition. In January I received 1 fire feature with electronic ignition. We are very disappointed with the service level from Syam. They failed to deliver on time and their lack of communication is frustrating. Syam were quick to invoice and demand a substantial deposit, before initiating any work. However, once the deposit was paid we have had an uphill battle in getting them to keep to their empty promises and delivery dates. This resulted in a very frustrated client and great delays to the project. Six weeks after payment the work is not close to completion.

This resulted in a very frustrated client and great delays to the project. Six weeks after payment the work is not close to completion.

I ordered 2 gas fireplaces at Syam Distributors Randburg in June. Before I paid a deposit of R58 000 I was promised delivery in 6weeks and now it is November. Every single time I call I am told Craig will call me back but he never does. I sent e-mails to accounts personnel (Dorelle) and again I am told Craig will call me back but he never does. Is there a head office that I can get in touch with. I am scared that I have conned. Please help me with a tel number of their higher authority
