I recently purchased a VW T Cross from VW Tavcor George. Part of the agreement was that they would reimburse me a R1 000 for bringing my trade in from Cape Town to George. The day before I left Cape Town to collect the vehicle I confirmed with the salesman if all is in order and if they will pay me the R1 000 on collection of the new vehicle. He confirmed that all is in order and his manager has confirmed as well. When I collected my vehicle I was told by the salesman that they can't give me the cash but they have my bank account number and that they would deposit it. The following day when I was back in Cape Town in was told that the Finance Manager is on leave. The Monday I followed up with the Finance Manager and she advised she is not aware of the agreement to pay me a R1 000. She emailed the salesman to ask about my payment.
The next day i was advised that I need to fill the T Cross and send them the slip. At this stage I was furious and advised the Salesman that the T Cross takes less than a R1 000 to fill and that this was never part of the agreement. I told him that from the beginning this was never part of the agreement. I told him that it is wrong and *********. I reminded him that I already had an approval on another vehicle at another dealership but the R1 000 payment for bringing the trade in to George made me take up the offer on the T Cross. I was very disappointed and advised that we had an agreement and it was not subject to producing any slip. He just advised me it was his managers decision and he could do nothing. This just shows some companies make promises to get a sale and once a sale is concluded they not bothered. I am very disappointed with Tavcor and the way they were just happy to brush me off. I called the dealership last Wednesday and asked to speak to the Dealer Principle, I was advised he is in a meeting and he would call me back. Nobody has called and this just shows Tavcor is not concerned about their clients.
I have now learnt not to trust any Dealership outside Cape Town as the smaller towns make promises to get a sale but once the sale is concluded they throw you away.
