Guilty of Improper Conduct by the South African Council for the Architectural Profession.

I engaged Philip Steikema founder and director of Team Architects to draw up alteration plans for my home.

The experience was so bad that I was advised by my attorneys to report him to the SACAP. My complaint included: - overcharging - conflict of interest - failing to provide a contract - commissioning unnecessary third party surveys - commissioning unnecessary building works - taking money for work that he knew would not be possible to build - personal behaviour which I believe was abusive, unprofessional and unethical.

The SACAP investigated my complaint and found him GUILTY OF IMPROPER CONDUCT and he was reprimanded and fined for his behaviour.

I would strongly recommend anyone contemplating using this firm to think again and use another firm of architects that have a clean record with their professional body.
