THABAZIMBI MUNICIPALITY DON'T REFUND CUSTOMERS THEIR MONIES AFTER PROPERTY IS SOLD

I sold my property in Northam, Limpopo and the transfer went through on 05/09/2024. Thabazimbi Municipality owe me a refund of Rates & Taxes and now I am battling to get my monies out of them.

Municipalities are the first ones to take legal action, charge interest, etc if you pay your electricity, water or Rates & taxes late, but when they owe you monies, it is a totally different kettle of fish.

I spoke to a person at Thabazimbi Municipality yesterday, 09/10/2024 who told me that it could up to 2 years or more for me to get my monies back. This is not acceptable.
