As a concerned friend of a student at the College of Modern Montessori, I am disappointed to hear about the behavior of one of the lecturers. According to my friend, this particular lecturer has been consistently rude to students every Saturday, creating an uncomfortable and unwelcoming learning environment. As someone who values education, I believe that it is important for educators to create a safe and positive learning environment for their students. Unfortunately, this lecturer's behavior does not align with that expectation. It is unacceptable for any student to feel disrespected or undervalued in a learning environment. I hope that the College of Modern Montessori addresses this issue promptly and takes steps to ensure that all students feel respected and valued in their classes. No student should have to endure rude behavior from a lecturer. I urge the college to take this matter seriously and make necessary changes to improve the learning experience for their students."

Every Saturday, this particular lecturer has been consistently rude to students, making the learning environment uncomfortable and unwelcoming. As a student, I do not feel respected or valued in their class. Their behavior has made it difficult for me to concentrate on the material being taught and has negatively impacted my overall learning experience.

My daughter started at the Glen Austin branch in 2013 and we felt it was a good school at the time and was very happy. A few years ago, the headmistress left, and some things came to light, but we believed the owners when they told us that things will be attended too. In the beginning of 2018 when my daughter went to Gr 3 I realised that some key points in the education was lacking and that the owners just do not have the same passion for this school that they have for the Linbro Park school and after a full assessment we decided to remove my daughter from the school. We gave the 20 days’ notice that the CPA requires by law although the school insist on 1 terms notice otherwise you forfeit you deposit. The school is supposed to refund me 3 terms school fees since we paid in advance and the deposit but after almost 3 most informed me on Friday that out of the R43k owed to me they will only refund R10 430.00, after speaking to other parents who removed their kids from the school over the past year it seems like the owners always have issues refunding deposits and credits. Reasons I removed my daughter from the school: Afrikaans secondary Langue is not up to standard, the grades is 3yrs behind. There is no Life S****s as subject in the Gr 1-3 classes. Student numbers have dwindled down to only 30% of what it was in 2016. Most of the extramural activities have been suspended. School buildings is run down and not being revamped or fixed. School owners have very little interest in the school and impossible to get in contact with.

My daughter (Delene Chetty – Student Number 32342) who has been studying through the School of Modern Montessori as a Home Study Student. We registered in 2012 and it was for a duration of 3 years. I paid a once of payment of R9000. She was supposed to have finished by the end of Dec 15/Jan 16.
The first problem is that she was not receiving her feedback on time with regards to the assignments. Whenever she phoned she was told that it is gone for marking.
The second problem is when I stepped in and made numerous of phone calls and sent emails to the directors of the College (Adam & Olivia Darby), I have had no replies to my emails and get told that they will call me back which they don’t.
I have been trying to find out who is at fault here, is it my daughter for not submitting her assignments on time or the college for not sending back her feedback on time.
I was told in March that I need to pay another R4000 for her to register for another 3 years to complete the course. 6 years to complete a teaching course for toddlers, this seems a bit ridiculous. I am a single parent who is trying to give my child and education and this is now very difficult for me.
I spoke to a lady by the name of Jane Black, who told me that one student is doing this course from 2003. How is this possible. Jane sent me an email stating that Dlene with get her certificate, according to Adam this was a generated email to all students but it was not.
I am at my wits end and don’t know what to do. I would sincerely have appreciated it if someone could help me with this matter or know someone who can.
If my child is at fault then I will accept it, but at least come back to me with answers and not tell me that we will look into the matter and don’t.
