Was contacted regarding an unclaimed pension fund my deceased mother had with Sanlam in August 2024. After submitting all the documentation requested I was told payment would be processed. A few weeks later was told they are missing documents, sent those to them. Another month later was told they were once again missing documents, sent those as well. Was told payment would be processed in 6 to 8 weeks. In March was told once again there are documents missing, lost it on the phone was told all of a sudden they do have the documents and it was a mistake. So it has been now 9 months since the initial documents was submitted and all my wasted time going to home affairs, to the bank, police station etc it is infuriating. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

I have been dealing with this people for the longest time. Not helpful at all, I sent my forms in December 2023 and still waiting. It's almost 6 months waiting, they said my forms have been sent to the administrator but when I've called numerous times trying to query about my claim all I get is I'll call u back and they don't. I was then corresponding with someone from the call center which I was then told they haven't recieved my forms from the data factory, so I then emailed my forms through again and then was asked to send a latest bank statement as nw the one I had sent with my forms had nw expired, 3 weeks later no response the person that was helping me at the call center is also no longer responding. On the self help page to track progress says it takes up to 3 months yet I'm already almost at 6 months waiting with no help, all these call centers are not trained very well as they don't know what they are doing, you get no help from them at all. I'm extremely frustrated as this takes up alot of time emailing, using so much of airtime just to call everytime and not to be helped and money spent to email paperwork and now to keep sending bank statements, all this is not free, it's becoming quite an expense dealing with all these people

This company is a trace company and apparently the winner of tracing agents of the year. All that they are good for is tracing and do not follow up with the company your funds are with. I have a feeling this is ****. If I send all my document already in Jan, why should I send it again and can only work through them. I think The Data Factory and Sanlam unclaimed pension fund is ****mers.

Caution! Although this business is CIPC registered, none of their other information e.g. addresses and contact numbers checks out. Several negative reviews about this company on Google Maps. They have a very impressive website www.datafactory.co.za, but at CIPC only listed as a micro company. They have not filed their CIPC AR for two consecutive years, which is not expected from a company as this one pretends to be. They dig up information about a person's past from Facebook, LinkedIn and other sites, and appear very convincing when they approach you about someone who died a few years ago and left you an inheritance. When it sounds too good to be true, it always is. My suspicion is that they are a phising company to lure people to give information, which they then use for other unknown purposes.
