Disappointed
The staff is really friendly and helpful especially the receptionists, the issue I had was, firstly I told them I do not have medical aid and I went there specifically for a broken tooth to be fixed, since I kept biting my cheek it was really necessary to have it attended to urgently in order grant me some relief. They then advised I first need a cleaning, of which they done and and thereafter they made another appointment.On the next appointment they then said I first needed to attend to two other fillings that they picked up, of which by the time I left after a cleaning and two fillings being a cash patient, I could not afford to attend to my broken tooth, of which I continued struggling with. Very disappointed because I made it clear what I came in for and also that I’m a cash patient. I do understand they access your whole mouth, to attend to everything eventually but I came in with a serious issue which after getting another opinion, i was told it could of been attended to before cleaning or attending to the other fillings. I would have appreciated it if my urgent concern was attended to first. Ray

Friendly, professional, considerate, and taking interest in their patients.
Our family have been going to The Family Dentist - Faerie Glen for a long time. From minor check-up and cleaning to crowns and root canals. This is the place we’ll go. Dr Janika does a great job in taking care of her patients.

Excellent dentist
Everything good about this dentist is what every other dentist has lacked (in my experience). Always warm and receptive. Thorough explanation of current dental state. Thorough explanation of work that needs to be done. Does not use unneeded consumables and materials (very cost conscious). Offers payment plans through credit partners. Excellent workmanship and guarantees on quality. Post-procedure service as good as service on site.

Great Service
I visited Dr. Pereira at The Family Dentist on Friday the 11th of September. I had broken a tooth the day before and needed it fixed. I was a bit hesitant to go as they don't claim from medical aids. After my visit I was very impressed. He sorted my problem out and didn't charge me an arm and a leg. What I thought was very nice is that the practice doesn't charge an admin fee which other medical aid practices usually do. All is all, I was very impressed and will be taking my 9 year old son to see him soon as I see he also likes seeing children too.

Be careful for the fine print
Phone this dentist practise in Faerie Glen for an appointment. Visited later. Went by 3 persons as was not informed that they do not claim from the medical aid . Also with this in mind they also do not discuss the examination that was performed and the relevant costs. I just got this bill and told pay up. When I enquire about this i was told \Sorry I forgot to tell you"Dentist just did what se want and afterwards when you arrive back at the counter you are faced with a astronomical bill that need to be paid in cash in full. And the bill is full of items and that is only for the assesment. If you enquire about why you was not informed from the start (new patient) about this policy their answer is that it was stated somewhere on the form that you filled in. If they told me that verbally when i made the appointment or spoke to the receptionist"
