My experience with Colin and his company was disappointing. First of all, his workers didn't honour an appointment, wasting my time. Then Colin himself phoned me relentlessly, trying to set up another appointment. I eventually could accommodate them, and his team came out to "service" my garage doors. The team were very friendly and worked fast. However, after they were done, I noticed: the housings of my garage motor consoles are damaged. One can clearly see that it is fresh breaks, and after they left, pieces of the covers were on the floor. Either the workers dropped the garage doors onto these, stepped on it or bumped it with their equipment. I don't know, as I was not supervising them 100% of the time. Secondly, I have noticed fresh scratches and dents on my garage doors. And I don't mean one or two... I am not sure whether they put the doors on the cement when they serviced them, but Colin now claims that these were there, just covered in grease before. How the obviously new scratches and dents were covered in grease all over the doors, is beyond me. Also, one can clearly see that the scratches are all new, as they still have bits sticking out. Long story short, after Colin's worker phoned me to find out "how we can fix it, because Colin is now making the workers pay for the damage", I have just received the following message from Colin. This is how he does business. Doesn't bother to come out and look at the damage himself. Doesn't take responsibility for his workers' damages. No. He tries to rectify this by blaming me, and tries to make additional money out of me. Thanks but no thanks. His response below. Response Regarding Your Recent Service We are writing to address the concerns raised regarding the motor covers and the condition of the door surface following our recent work. 1. Regarding the Motor Covers Please note that our team only removed the motors from the doors; the wall consoles were not removed or tampered with during this process. Consequently, we cannot accept responsibility for the condition of the existing covers. Furthermore, we are unable to source replacements for these specific covers. The manufacturer of your system is no longer in business, and because the equipment is approximately 20 years old, parts are no longer manufactured or available on the market. 2. Surface Marks and Scratches During the servicing of your doors, our team performed a thorough cleaning. The marks currently visible on the door surface were previously concealed behind thick layers of grease and accumulated dirt. Now that the doors have been properly cleaned, these pre-existing marks have simply been exposed. Our Recommendation While we cannot provide new covers for obsolete hardware, we would like to help restore the aesthetic of your doors. We recommend a professional respray, which would cover the now-exposed marks and refresh the appearance of the unit. Would you like me to prepare a formal quote for the respraying of the doors at an additional cost?
