Good day, On April 4th, I visited the grove ice rink. Unfortunately, the rental skates I received were quite dull. Despite requesting replacements, I encountered difficulties with the service of the grove ice link workers. Eventually, a lady, who was rather impolite, provided me with new skates. However, these also proved to be blunt. Upon returning and asking for blade sharpening, I was informed that rental skates are not sharpened. Despite the rude assistance, I was given another pair, which turned out to be both broken and blunt. Due to the discourteous behavior of the lady, I refrained from seeking further assistance and continued skating with inadequate equipment, ultimately resulting in a fall and head injury. Despite my distress, no one offered assistance. As a result, I have suffered a concussion and a minor skull injury. This situation is particularly concerning as I've observed numerous others experience similar accidents due to dull skates. In contrast, I've had positive experiences at Forest Hill Mall, where the skates are sharp and the service is accommodating. Given the severity of my injury, which requires X-rays, I am seeking compensation for the lack of service and the harm caused. Despite my distress, no one came to my aid while I was in tears and experiencing nausea. I have decided not to return to the rink and am requesting a refund. I am prepared to escalate this matter further, including involving the media and seeking legal advice from Afriforum if necessary. It's important to note that while skating is at one's own risk, the refusal of assistance and absence of emergency services do not fall under this category. The employees' neglectful behavior, spending time on their phones instead of assisting patrons, is unacceptable. I await your prompt response, as I am determined to pursue appropriate action if compensation is not provided.

The absolute most poor service anyone can endure. I was stopped at the entrance to pay meanwhile I’m just going in to sit with my mother while my little brothers are skating, when i refused to pay the gentleman told me the capacity of 50 has been reached and i cannot go in and have to sit outside. When i asked him how many people are inside the ice rink he said “he does not know” and claimed that he is the manager and that i should go outside. My mother then approached and asked to speak with the owner of the rink and then the “manager” gave my mother another colleague’s number working at the ice rink. My advice to anyone that want to go ice skate would be to avoid Forest hill and rather go to the grove.

A warm and fun trip was expected by my fellow friends and i as we took a drive down to our local ice rink.

Instead we were greeted with a stench of bad attitude and poor service, firstly the people in charge of skate hiring... I took of my shoe and clearly stated that i would like a size 9 boot but i was handed a size 8 instead so i proceeded back to the man and pointed out his mistake and asked for a size 9 instead, thats when i was greeted with a fiery response "but you have a size 7 shoe and its not my problem!" secondly the snack store... The staff members there seem to always be on a break, i had to wait around anywhere between 30-50 minutes just to get served by yet another foul mannered staff member, throwing my items to the counter and then giving me dirty looks as i pay...

The third incedent was at the end of the day session, i was sitting at the side of the ice rink on the barrier as everyone was proceeding toward the exit, a staff member yells at me from the snack shop saying "hey you get of there now we are closed!!" this really makes my blood boil, how would some of you feel if you were told this by a stranger at a place of enjoyment and fun?

I think this place could really use an attitude adjustment before they push the buttons of the wrong person.
