Took my car back after something was wrong as Neil asked me do I want to bring it in quick. On arrival the one worker started my car in gear and knocked me over. Neil returns, I tell him what happened: his response: 1. Well there is nothing I can do about it now. NO apology or a bit of decency. i confronted him if that is the response he gives, not even an apology, this is his response futher: 1. Asks me why do I stand in front of the car? 2. Asks me who parked the car in gear? 3. Tell's me "daar is nie pille vir domgeid nie mevrou". And says: "jy het my die eerste keer gehoor". Besides my car not being ok after he worked on it, the above is his response and behavior to something a bit more serious than the car. I am disgusted by the way he as the owner of The Motor Guru treated me. His worker that started the car was apologetic and helped me and offered me a place to sit and water and was a far better person today. Accidents happen, I get that. But this behavior from Neil Makkink is bad, disgusting and uncalled for. I made no scene about being knocked over, I was however upset that Neil could not apologise and had a bad attitude from the get go. Neil is arrogant and entitled as the owner and treated me very bad today.

Took my car for repairs & service, paid R19k and collected car only to discover same problems are still there a day after picking it up, told the owner ( Neil ) and he said he’ll let me know to bring it to have a look, it’s been 2-3 weeks now, paid money for service I didn’t get, asked for old parts he replaced then and now and nothing, he ****s black unsuspecting car owners.

Horrible experience whereby I was billed for items that were not replaced and to make matters worse the alleged "Guru" threatened to strip my vehicle to prove that the work was done. I had an independent mechanic check and the rollers were not replaced neither was the alternator pulley. This has been the worst experience in History, avoid this business at all costs...rather have a non-runner than use these charlatans!

Definitely a rip off mechanic. We dropped my sons car off to check why his car was overheating suspecting a blown head gasket without knowing much about car engines. The next day Neil from The Motor Guru sent me a whatsapp with a document confirming a head gasket test. Said my son and I needed to come in to discuss his quote. When we got there the quote was R33 000 for a blown head gasket and a number of other things. After discussions he made out to be doing us a big favour to reduce the quote to R23 000. Something felt off so we said we wanted to think about it. After chatting to a few friends we decided to go to a different provider. The new mechanic checked the car and confirmed the head gasket was NOT blown. He replaced a faulty fan switch and it cost us R900 including labour!! Seems for some people dishonesty pays so it's super important to be vigilant as consumers.

The owner of The Motor Guru gave a verbal quote of between R25 000 and R27 000 to fix a head gasket issue on my Nissan Pathfinder. I asked for a written quote for three weeks and never got one. The final invoice was R55 000. As a mechanic he would know that a reconditioned or second hand motor would have cost half that. I heard from another fellow later, he did the same to him. He charged R600 for diesel but the car is empty. The battery was almost new but he is charging for a new one. The turbo was checked as being perfect 2 weeks before it went to him and yet he is charging R9000 for repairs to it.
