I ordered the “Linen Loose Fit Pull Up Pants” from The Skullery and what I received was completely different to what was advertised. The quality is extremely poor, the sizing is massively off (I ordered an XS and got something closer to an XL), and I selected the no pockets option — but the pants came with large, visible pockets.
The biggest issue I’ve uncovered is that The Skullery used a ****** product image on their website to sell this item. The image shown to market the pants is not their ow, it actually belongs to Abercrombie & Fitch and can be found publicly here: https://za.pinterest.com/pin/526428643961803335/.
There was no credit or disclosure, and the image was used to mislead customers into thinking this was what they would receive.
In reality, the pants I received look nothing like the photo, they are poorly made, a completely different fit and design, and unwearable for the price I paid.
To make it worse, the pants arrived over a month later, and when I contacted the business, Brigitte Willers (a public figure in South Africa), she refused to issue a refund and instead offered alterations, which is not acceptable when the item sent is so fundamentally different from what was sold.
This is not just bad customer service. This is false advertising using ****** imagery, and it's *********. I've reported this to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud and to Meta to prevent The Skullery from continuing to run misleading ads on social platforms.
I’m sharing this so others are warned before they make the same mistake I did.
