⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently purchased the Crew Neck Mini Dress and absolutely love the fit and style. The dress is beautifully made and fits perfectly, exactly what I was hoping for. I also needed the dress on very short notice, and the team made sure it arrived on time, which I really appreciated. Thank you for the amazing service and a wonderful shopping experience. I will definitely order again!

I purchased two linen pieces — the powder blue adjustable romper and the taupe maxi wrap — and both exceeded expectations. The linen quality is excellent: breathable, soft, and structured enough to hold its shape without looking stiff or cheap. The powder blue romper is insanely flattering, adjustable in all the right places, and actually wearable for real life (not just photos). The taupe maxi wrap is elegant, timeless, and d****s beautifully — it’s one of those pieces you can dress up or down without effort. Fit is spot-on, stitching is clean, and the designs feel thoughtful and intentional, not mass-produced fast fashion. You can tell care went into these pieces. Delivery was smooth, packaging was lovely, and the entire experience felt premium from start to finish. The photos attached are of me wearing both outfits, so you can see how they fit and move on a real body — not a styled stock image. If you’re on the fence — don’t be. The Skullery delivers quality, style, and value. I’ll 100% be ordering again.

I ordered the pink linen high waist skirt with elastic waist and am so happy with my purchase. The material and quality is amazing and it fits me perfectly. The ordering process was also quick and easy. I can highly recommend this company.

I would strongly caution against purchasing from The Skullery SA, the linen clothing brand, to avoid disappointment. As per the fine print on the website - "Unfortunately, we do not accept returns or exchanges on sale items". The strange part is that every clothing item on their site is marked as “on sale”, effectively meaning they offer no returns at all. The pants I received are ill fitting and looks nothing like the item advertised. After some digging, I realised why: the photos on their site are actually taken from another retailer’s website (link below). This is misleading, *********, and deeply disappointing. https://alwaysdwell.com/products/strappy-trousersf425437d-b39a-4794-8e36-b6d21bbb713c I love supporting Local, but it is brands like The Skullery that gives our local clothing industry as bad reputation. Ill fitting, over priced garments. The pants does not even have a label in it. They responded very quickly to my first email when I asked how to tie the straps, even requesting a Google review and offering a R250 voucher in return. But once I said I wanted to return the pants, they stopped replying. I have sent three emails since and received no response. There is something very wrong with the pattern. The Convertible wrap pant to jumpsuit does not convert into a jumpsuit properly. The ties are too thick and creates a fat bulge on the back. The photos on the website shows a smooth back. The rise on the pant is also way to long. It is just very unflattering. Super disappointed.

I wish I had researched this brand before placing and paying for my online order as it would have saved me time, money, disappointment and frustration. They only have terrible reviews here on Hello Peter and their Facebook page has turned off comments, I strongly suspect, in an attempt to hide the response and comments from dissatisfied customers. I reached out via email before placing my order to enquire about fabric colour and fit. I received a response from Nandi Inenna who is the Sales Operations Manager for The Skullery with advice to my queries. I took her advice and went ahead with placing my order. When my order was received, approximately 2 weeks later, I was disappointed with my garments. There was not label attached to indicate what fabric or fabric blend was used. I felt this was important as I was under the impression I was purchasing linen or linen blend clothing and paying a price to match. I had ordered two items, both size large. The one item fits well, but the other was far too big. The same size was manufactured completely differently for each garment. The colour of the one garment was different to what I ordered even after I had directly enquired about it and as was advertised. This company misrepresents the garments you will receive. They are using images from other websites and portraying them as their own. The product and the picture do not match. I reached out with my intention to exchange or return to the same email address I used previously (to which I initially got a response) within the required 42 hour window according to the returns and refunds requirements. This time there was no reply from the company except for the usual auto response stating that they will get back to me within 24 hours. I gave them a couple of days, but when I did not get a reply in 4 days I reached out again. This time I clearly stated my dissatisfaction and requesting advice on how to get it resolved, but again only received the auto reply. I then reached out via WhatsApp (their only other means of contact according to the info on their website) and have still not had any response from the company. I am incredibly frustrated and feel ****med and ********** as I thought I was supporting a sustainable, local, small business.

Please be aware, this company uses **** images - the colour and quality of the product you receive are vastly different from the images on the site. And they don't offer refunds on sale items, but all items are always 'on sale' so as to circumvent having to refund shockingly low quality items. Be warned. Look at their other reviews, it is not just me

Worst online shopping experience ever! The dress ordered was a different colour to the website description, the size was wrong, the fabric wasn’t pure linen, the dress was badly made - even the neckline is uneven. The worst thing is the utter lack of a response to any enquiries or complaints. An online message regarding sizing was ignored, follow up emails were similarly ignored. There's no phone number, only a Whatsapp number, which didn’t respond to my message. There are at least 3 email addresses, none of which responded to my queries. It took 2 weeks to receive an email advising that the dress had been shipped. My reply to this mail, again stating my concerns, was ignored, as was a post on their Facebook page. The courier service took almost 2 weeks to deliver. By that time any hope of returning the substandard dress for refund had faded. In any event, reading the company’s long list of terms & conditions, they cover themselves so comprehensively that I doubt they've ever refunded anyone for anything. A complete ******* from a small local business. They should be ashamed of themselves!

I ordered the “Linen Loose Fit Pull Up Pants” from The Skullery and what I received was completely different to what was advertised. The quality is extremely poor, the sizing is massively off (I ordered an XS and got something closer to an XL), and I selected the no pockets option — but the pants came with large, visible pockets. The biggest issue I’ve uncovered is that The Skullery used a ****** product image on their website to sell this item. The image shown to market the pants is not their ow, it actually belongs to Abercrombie & Fitch and can be found publicly here: https://za.pinterest.com/pin/526428643961803335/. There was no credit or disclosure, and the image was used to mislead customers into thinking this was what they would receive. In reality, the pants I received look nothing like the photo, they are poorly made, a completely different fit and design, and unwearable for the price I paid. To make it worse, the pants arrived over a month later, and when I contacted the business, Brigitte Willers (a public figure in South Africa), she refused to issue a refund and instead offered alterations, which is not acceptable when the item sent is so fundamentally different from what was sold. This is not just bad customer service. This is false advertising using ****** imagery, and it's *********. I've reported this to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud and to Meta to prevent The Skullery from continuing to run misleading ads on social platforms. I’m sharing this so others are warned before they make the same mistake I did.
