Disappointing Experience at Time Square Casino – Serious Management Oversight I visited Time Square Casino in Pretoria on the 20th of June, and I left deeply disappointed. It is quite clear that management involvement is minimal, if not completely absent. Numerous slot machines were out of order, and when I asked the staff for assistance, I was met with rude and dismissive attitudes. This is not what one would expect from a facility that markets itself as a premier entertainment destination. To make matters worse, there were intoxicated individuals loitering around and occupying seats in front of machines, not even playing. This not only creates an uncomfortable environment but also deters serious guests from enjoying the facilities. Even more disturbing was the staff behavior – some were using guest entrances and shouting across the casino floor, completely disregarding the atmosphere and experience of the guests. Such behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable. The toilets were dirty, smelly, and poorly maintained, which raises serious concerns about hygiene standards. Moreover, the security in the parking area felt questionable at best – something that should be a top priority, especially for guests visiting late at night. If I were to compare Time Square with Emperors Palace or Montecasino, unfortunately, Time Square loses hands down. Those establishments are far more organized, welcoming, and well-maintained. Time Square urgently needs serious intervention from upper management. Without it, the overall experience will continue to decline – and loyal patrons will start taking their business elsewhere.

My husband and I have been loyal patrons of Sun International casinos for years. We regularly visit both Time Square and Carnival City, and have always enjoyed the experience—until now. On Friday night, we visited Time Square Casino, as we have done many times over the past three years. This time, we had left our MVG cards at home, so we went to the MVG desk to request new cards. I was assisted by a consultant named Clinton, who was initially friendly—until he scanned my ID. Without any explanation, Clinton’s demeanor changed immediately. He picked up the phone, called someone, and started speaking in a hushed, serious tone. I politely asked him if there was an issue, but he ignored me completely. Feeling uncomfortable, I turned to the consultant next to him and asked again. She rep**** vaguely that Clinton was “just checking something on my profile.” I then overheard Clinton asking someone to “please remove this.” It turns out he was referring to a self-exclusion notice that I had voluntarily placed over 10 years ago, which was formally cleared in 2017. I am shocked that this old data was not only still on my profile, but that it was handled in such a disrespectful and humiliating way. Clinton’s attitude made me feel like a ********—as if I didn’t deserve a simple explanation or even basic courtesy. There was no communication, no empathy, and absolutely no professionalism. As a regular Sun International guest, I expect to be treated with dignity and respect, even if something on my profile needs to be clarified. 💡 A tip for Time Square: Teach your staff to speak to people, not around them. Something as simple as: “Ma’am, I’ve noticed something on your profile. Would you mind if I take a moment to clarify this with Security?” or “Ma’am, there seems to be a flag from a self-exclusion. Could we please discuss this further?” Basic customer service like this can go a long way in preventing loyal customers from walking away feeling humiliated and upset. I would appreciate an apology for the way I was treated and would like to know how long-standing customers can be handled so poorly over a matter that was resolved years ago

I made my dinner reservation at Tatso (Times Square Menlyn) for the 3rd December over a month ago. It was for a special wedding anniversary celebration. I even sent a follow up email 2 days before the reservation date to make sure my reservation was still in order. Nobody responded to me. Then, 2 hours before my reservation you guys called me and told me the dinner has been cancelled. A 2 hours notice is ridiculously unfair and unprofessional!! When I asked your lady what she could do for us to make up for this incompetency and for ruining what was meant to be such a special celebration for me and my husband, all she could say was 'eish. Sorry'. What kind of a response is that?? Any other reputable restaurant would've offered to accommodate us somehow for this negligence, but you guys don't seem to give a **** about customer satisfaction or service delivery. Your company's tagline should be 'eish. Sorry' since thats all you are able to offer. Despicable service from you guys. I will be sharing this experience all over my social media as well. You guys are definitely not a suitable place for special occasions if you can let somebody down at the last minute like this. You are extremely unreliable and *************. People should not risk their special celebrations on you. I am so lucky Square Time restaurant in Faerie Glen was able to accommodate us instead. They did not even have space for us but they still made a plan cause they understood the importance of such an occasion and how to take care of their customers. You should take a page out of their book on what service delivery actually entails cause clearly you guys have no people skills or ability to deliver what you're advertising. You need to go back to the drawing board and start with the basics on how to run your company and have some integrity in the way your branch is representing your franchise. I will be sending all of this to your headoffice as well. Despicable service from you guys. Very pathetic.
