I’d like to report the extremely poor level of customer service I received from Top Deck.
I visited the store to browse and see if anything caught my interest, and I asked if there might be a discount available if I spent a certain amount. I was bluntly told, “the price is the price,” and was then pointed toward an in-store tournament, with the clear implication that I needed to hurry up.
While browsing (and checking prices online), I came across a second-hand product that caught my eye—a set of four pre-constructed decks. I was assured by staff that it was a complete set, in mint condition.
However, when I got home, I discovered that one of the cards was from a different set, and another was missing entirely.
To make matters worse, I later realized that another item I had purchased was selling for 30–40% less at other retailers. While that was my mistake for not double-checking, it only added to my frustration.
I returned to the store with the incomplete set and politely explained the issue, simply requesting what I had been told I was buying—nothing more. Instead, I was directed to the fine print listed online for the item. When I calmly pushed back, the staff member then shouted at me saying they didn’t have the missing cards.
I was then offered either a refund—which would take up to two weeks—or store credit. I opted for the refund.
After this experience, I won’t be returning.
