I would like to start off by saying that this is a public hospital, it's not a 5 star hotel! Yes the toilets are not up to standard and there is not a 24 hour cleaner to clean up after every women. We should be able to clean up after ourselves!! Honestly the 5 star rating I'm giving is because of the 5 start nursing care and service I received.
I gave birth on the 4th of July 2024 and as most women I was rather worried about giving birth at a public hospital because the only reviews we read are bad ones, which is sad. I would like to thank ALL the nurses in the maternity ward who helped me and checked in on me during my labour. I am a first time mom and was not sure what to expect at all. They answered all my questions and reassured me that I was in safe hands. I'd like to especially thank nurse C. Mahlangu who went over and beyond during my delivery. She gave me strength when I thought I could not give natural birth and before I knew it, my perfect little baby boy was out and on my chest.
I would definitely recommend Tshwane district hospital to all mammas. Thank you again to ALL the nurses who looked after me during my stay there.
Keep on doing a fantastic job Sisters!! (Helen Zille, Helen Joseph and most importantly Helen Erasmus)
