My experience with Tuft Crowd was utterly appalling and clearly outlines a practice of deceptive billing and poor service. Complaint regarding; What I was charged for vs. what I received: 1. Undisclosed Service Limitations: I booked and paid for the "Decoden Art experience" for two slots. Upon arrival, I was informed that the crafting options were severely limited to only hair clips and photo frames. There was zero disclosure of this limited stock online, in the booking process, or in our prior correspondence, which is unacceptable for a paid workshop. 2. Gross Overcharging for Unused Items: The receipt incorrectly charged me for two sets of 5 hair clips (R840 total), even though I explicitly stated that we only made and used one set of five clips. I requested a refund of R420 for the unmade, unrequested, and unused second set. 3. Erroneous Online Fee: I was charged an extra R90 shipping fee during the online booking, which the company later acknowledged as a "website error". Tuft Crowd’s ********* Response: 1. Refusal to Refund the R420 Overcharge: After declining their inconvenient offer to return to the studio to "complete the remaining set", the company outright refused to refund the R420 for the second set of clips that was never made. 2. Retroactive Justification for Incorrect Charge: Their reasoning was that "additional products such as cream glue and charms were used during the service, and those costs were already incurred and can’t be reversed". This is an ********* and dishonest attempt to justify a *****ulent R420 charge for a whole product by claiming minor material costs. Basic workshop materials should be factored into the cost of the one set of clips I did make, not used to justify an erroneous charge for a product I did not receive. This is not a partial refund request; it is a refund for a whole product that was never provided. 3. Inadequate Apology: Their apology for the limited stock was a generic statement about items selling out, completely sidestepping the core issue of their failure to disclose these limitations to a paying customer before they attended the workshop. The company's refusal to honor a clear refund request for a product they failed to provide, based on a flimsy justification for minor material costs, demonstrates a profound lack of integrity. They are only refunding the R90 website error fee. I strongly advise against booking any experience with Tuft Crowd.
